What I did at DWCon '08

Sep 02, 2008 18:20

This has taken a while to appear because I went straight from the Con to spend a further week with friends in Manchester, and it's only now I've finally returned home that I've had time to write it.

Hadn't realised that's where you were. And since I was there for saintmaryuk's birthday my time ended up being fairly full anyway. Still, noted for future reference. :-)

Lol... sometimes I wonder if I'm the only person who ever reads profiles on LJ. *g* It's in mine that that's where I am, though. ;)

btw, David wasn't at practice last week, but I have no idea where he actually was. he didn't tell when he said he wouldn't be there, and I didn't ask. *g*

Ah, do you and Mole already know eachother from outside the Con? It's nice to find how people I know are interconnected; atm I'd feel slightly weird about meeting up with someone to whom I've not said much IRL beyond "stand closer to the mic!"

Well, we found at the Con, our first meeting, that we were linked by someone we both know IRL; one of Mole's friends sits next to me in chamber choir. :) It really is a small world - and oh, don't get me started about my relationship with the mic, lol. It's never been good unless I'm singing a cappella and can hear myself, in which case it's manageable...

It was nice to see you - I hope you had a good week in Manchester afterwards.

I had expected big queues for checking in and out too, and was pleasantly surprised.

Breakfast-wise I usually chose Miller's Gastro-pub as it was the first food-stop on my way down from my room, and they had a good selection of stuff. Plus it was never crowded, which was nice!
