Yayayay Rachel Weisz. I am now more interested in the project. And I'd be pleased if they took a new direction, using Bourne as a launchpad for something new, because if they rehash then it'd just be boring. I hope Gilroy is less enamoured of quick cutshots.

I liked the first 3 Bourne films, and was happy with how Jason Bourne's story was concluded in them, but I would like it if they told a different kind of story - the original trilogy was very much about guilt, and responsibility, and corrupted patriotism. I don't know anything about the plot of Bourne Legacy, but if it has a female character who is not (a) a doomed girlfriend and/or (b) Bourne's friend on the inside, that seems like a cool move to me.

Yes, exactly. I enjoyed the 3 Bourne films as well and I like where and how it concluded, but it's concluded. I would like a different story to be told now. I certainly hope Rachel Weisz's character doesn't get knocked off either.

in other words: Leon: The Professional, the sequel

I don't know how much you want to differentiate here, but since it's only from the Besson-factory I think it's better to adjust expectations and look for something along the lines of Taken, From Paris with Love, maybe The Transporter than something original directed by Besson back in the days. Though hopefully it will still be entertaining to watch.

Luckily, I don't hold Leon with the type of reverence some fans seem to, so I'll be happy with entertaining. :)
