The Tom Tykwer directed film adaptation of Cloud Atlas appears to be moving again, adding Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw Susan Sarandon, and Jim Broadbent to its cast, which also includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, and Natalie Portman. James McAvoy, who was previous attached to play the part of the apprentice composer Robert Frobisher, has apparently moved on to other projects, and best guess is that Whishaw will be taking over his role. Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener, The Brothers Bloom) is reportedly in talks to play the female lead/antagonist in Tony Gilroy's The Bourne Legacy, opposite Jeremy Renner. The character is described as being "an operative from a covert government program that is even more dangerous than the Treadstone brainwashing program that hatched Bourne." Sounds as if Gilroy is definitely taking the franchise in a different direction to the original trilogy, which was directed by Doug Liman (film 1) and Paul Greengrass (films 2 and 3). (
