"... her that taught his heart to race, his mouth to swallow. Without her, he will waste away."
I loved seeing Lorena&Bill next to Godric&Eric. Godric chose Eric because he delighted in killing, Lorena chose Bill because he was virtuous. and look what they became.
She tries to claim her privileges as Maker but he is an unruly child. He, in turn, has an unruly child.
Wonderful work with this. I love the shape of is. She must-he must. I love it coming to a head in the center, what she made him and then diminishing to where she's left int he end.
I thought it was really interesting that Lorena left Bill alone for 70 years - never tried to see him, never tried to convince him to come back to her, until Eric lured her in with the story of Bill falling in love again. I think a part of her is conscious of how she is not totally rational when it comes to Bill, and she stayed away from him as much for her own self-preservation, as out of fear of what Bill would threaten do to himself.
She tries to claim her privileges as Maker but he is an unruly child. He, in turn, has an unruly child.
I read somewhere that Lorena's backstory involves her being kidnapped from a nunnery, or something like that. Which makes so much sense, when you look in turn at Jessica. Lorena is...still a child, in so many ways.
