This Wine
When he is gone, the miasma lifts, and her mind is clear.
She must steel herself to hating him.
He made her weak, pathetic, a whining infant once more. She wants never to see him again.
Abstinence is no virtue, whatever Bill might think; and gluttony is its own reward. It is her in him that makes the blood so deep and so red, her that taught his heart to race, his mouth to swallow. Without her, he will waste away.
She indulged him too damn much, loved him too damn much. She was drunk on him.
He must never see her like this.
