I think I brought up the possibility months and months ago, but I sat for so long on it that fan_elune and transtempts wrote their versions first. They're excellent, if you want to check them out here and here.
Adam never really tells a lie. Maybe he's a little like Lucifer? Lying would be too easy, and beneath him. I'm sure at one point he did have a cushy government job - maybe he even worked for an earlier version of the Academy, before he ended up in it (he must be getting mighty sick of that). Which is just to say, I think Adam after all those additional centuries, if he's lived, would have changed as a character. Maybe for the better, maybe for the worse. My Adam has learned the limitations of grand, world-scale schemes and is sticking to something a bit more meaningful, more concrete this time. Perhaps what that means is that he's become a better person. *shrug*

Also, the anachronisms in Adam's internal monologue were a nice touch, a reminder of how old he really is.
