I've fallen completely in love with this perfume (more detailed description here) and I can't stop thinking about it about how it makes me feel! *flails* Do you think the people at Mecca would notice if I went into their store every couple of days and used the tester? *sigh*

That still of Baltar with Six cracks me up. Jesus. Only, not.

Arabie: The description alone made me want to sidle up to it and follow it around. (There was a time, back before I lost my urbanity, when I hung out at the big center-city retail emporium's perfume counter a lot. It's cheaper than a movie and just as content-rich, narratively speaking.)

I don't wear perfume too often because I'm prone to sinus allergies and the scents can be quite painful - so I tend to race through the perfumes and cosmetics section of department stores, holding my breath. I can't concentrate on a single scent, it's too overwhelming and dizzying. I tried Arabie in a stand-alone Mecca store, where I get most of my cosmetics. It was like magic.

This might just be the coolest perfume review I've ever read:
Why there is a bird-headed demon on a throne with pots on his head and feet, swallowing a man farting birds, I have no idea, though obviously Bosch did. Likewise, Arabie is not a scent you ever really make sense of, but the disorder never feels quite accidental.

That perfume sounds DELICIOUS. I love fig as a note.

After reading that decription, I'm going to have to hunt down that perfume for a whiff. It reminded me of this really lovely new blog about personal experiences with fragrance http://invisiblemagnet.blogspot.com/

It must be. The film is about a Chinese ballet dancer who defects to the West.

*cheers*

Why can't you buy it? Is it frightfully expensive? :(

I like the Fleurs de Citronnier one, in Summer/Spring.

Ridiculously expensive, considering how little perfume I actually wear.

Ah, yes. Allergies! I suppose it's less ridiculous for someone like myself (not to mention I think I have less expensive taste. *G*).

My Mitsouko parfum just ran out the other day. Very sad. Not only is it incredibly difficult to find the straight-up parfum, but the one I had was one of the old ones that still used natural ingredients, rather than synthetic. *mourns*
