Also Canada-fishy died, and I'm going to go out with a spoon to dig him a little fishy grave. ): He was the last of my original fish from when I first moved here last year, and he survived a lot of trauma for a guppy, so I'm happy that he lived this long.

IT IS VERY SAD but he lived a pretty long life, as far as I'm concerned.

how long do fish live for? You should get a beta fish. My suite got a beta fish my Junior year of college, and that thing is still alive!

Guppies can live up to 2.5 years, but considering that they lived in an apartment with horrible temperature control and were moved three/four times in a year, I'd say that his life of at least 15 months was pretty good. Bettas live on average three years; most of the ones you buy in stores are 6 months to a year old (i.e. mature). I had a betta, but had to leave it at home with my parents when I moved.
