Martha walked up the road, on her way to visit Wendla because she was bored. She smiled, seeing Wendla's tent and cookies and pillows and blankets. "Wendla! How did you do this? It's like breakfast in bed, but outside!" Martha was a tiny bit excited.
Moritz was feeling a lot better, even if he had a lingering cough. He had decided to go for a walk so he was bundled up and enjoying the world outside his sickbed.
It was then that he noticed a sort of teepee. He bent down to examine it and noticed Wendla.
"Uh ... Hullo!" Moritz coughed a little, surprised.
"Moritz!" Wendla exclaimed cheerily. "How are you? Melchior said you were ill. Would you like a cookie?" she said all in one breath. Tents were exciting, okay.
