Moritz was feeling a lot better, even if he had a lingering cough. He had decided to go for a walk so he was bundled up and enjoying the world outside his sickbed.
It was then that he noticed a sort of teepee. He bent down to examine it and noticed Wendla.
"Uh ... Hullo!" Moritz coughed a little, surprised.
"Moritz!" Wendla exclaimed cheerily. "How are you? Melchior said you were ill. Would you like a cookie?" she said all in one breath. Tents were exciting, okay.

"How have you been keeping yourself? Did you or Melchi fall ill?"

"They're wonderful," he said with a mouthful. Moritz brushed crumbs off his chin and smiled. "Since my fever broke, I've been starving."

"Do you want an actual meal? I can make some things!"

"N-no thank you," he replied. "I wouldn't want to put you out. B-besides, maybe Ilse will make spätzle or something later." Keep dreaming, Moritz.
