So, I've done a lot of moving and shaking recently, which is to say I've traveled a whole heck of a lot more in the past four months than I have in every year previous to this one. The last couple of years have found me stuck at home, skirt chasing and not overly sure of my own ability to go wherever the hell I pleased...plus financially things ( Read more... )

I was there over the summer and you guys have done a top notch job at making yourselves a great city.

Shilo is just a wee bit outside the city of Brandon, which in turn is almost exactly 200k west of Winnipeg. And I'm so pleased to hear you managed to recognize that Winnipeg rules. We get shit on a whole lot, but it's actually a pretty tenacious and interesting little city once you get to know it.

So if I was posted to Shilo I'd be in range of the city... oh you have no idea how happy that makes me. I wandered around Winnipeg by myself for hours and I plan to do that again.

Mind you, all the other bases I'd be at are within striking distance of other lovely places...so it's win/win.

albany I'm hot and cold with, but I live here, so that may be why. I would give my left arm to live in Ottawa or Montreal though :)

You REALLY don't want to live in the United States, Phil.

But, if you insist, there are places that are A LOT prettier than Albany. Staying in New York State, even, you have Ithaca. (*love*)

Elsewhere? The White Mountains of New Hampshire, for instance, or west-central Colorado.
