Time for a brief update. This weekend was great. beldar had to work Friday night and I stayed at home and watched some TV (I crashed by 9:30 which I haven't done in quite a while). Saturday we slept in a bit and watched a bunch of TV (our DVR was very full) and then went to the Inconjunction concom meeting. It was nice to finally get back into the swing ( Read more... )

Saturday we slept in a bit and watched a bunch of TV (our DVR was very full) and then went to the Inconjunction concom meeting. It was nice to finally get back into the swing of things. I wish we could have been to more prior meetings (not that it would have made much difference as they treat me like I've never worked a convention before, but still). The convention looks like it's going to be pretty OK after all (there were major shake-ups over the past year so things are still pretty volatile).

I have been paying attention to the InCon website. I do have a questions: will the con be "Harry Potter" themed this year or not?

Yes, it will have a Harry Potter theme but not as heavily as originally planned and we will be promoting other areas of fandom as well.

Hey! Was the con meeting the scifi meeting on the west side? ^^ My friend Laura was there at that. I almost went. I'm up for volunteering at the con if needed! I'll probably even COME to next month's meeting.

Yep, that's the one. The scifi club is Circle of Janus and the concom meeting was prior to the regular club meeting. I do hope to see you at next month's meeting. I'm not sure who your friend Laura was but I think I've got an idea. Do hollar at us if you need a ride.

She's a weird little nervous girl. ^^ Pale, black-brown hair, probably looks like she's ready to go the moment she gets somewhere. ^^

I'm pretty sure she's who I am thinking of. If you talk to her about it, I was the chick folding the fliers during most of the meeting.

I like "Heist" also - clever show indeed!! I also have to thank "Yes Dear" for introducing me to Mr. O'Brien. He has GOT to be the same kind of riot in real life ~ there are some things you just can not fake!!

Chris and I have already got our tickets for the con this year. Always look forward to the panels and seeing people again!
HOW DOES SOMEONE GO ABOUT GETTING TO SET UP A FREE TABLE IN THE HALLWAY JUST TO ADVERTISE like what MagicHouse does?
I got an email about the dealers room and replied back about a Free Table and I haven't heard a thing. Help?

Contact either Harry Bunn (publicity@inconjunction.org) or Rob Pyatt (programming@inconjunction.org) regarding getting a table in the hallway (if I knew what you were trying to advertise, I'd have a better idea of who to send you to). As for the dealers room, there are no free tables in that room. Also, if you're wanting to display or advertise your art, you have to buy a panel or table in the art show for that.

thanks for the info. I was thinking about promoting my website (art). Maybe I'll get a panel next year, when I can produce some newer stuff.
I'm also working with a friend on founding a production company, I don't know if we would have anything worth promoting this year, who knows we shall see. thanks again!
Hope to see you before then, but if not.... I'll have to hunt you down at the con!!!!
