Time for a brief update. This weekend was great.
beldar had to work Friday night and I stayed at home and watched some TV (I crashed by 9:30 which I haven't done in quite a while). Saturday we slept in a bit and watched a bunch of TV (our DVR was very full) and then went to the
Inconjunction concom meeting. It was nice to finally get back into the swing of things. I wish we could have been to more prior meetings (not that it would have made much difference as they treat me like I've never worked a convention before, but still). The convention looks like it's going to be pretty OK after all (there were major shake-ups over the past year so things are still pretty volatile). Still, we will be pretty ensconced in gaming as ususal. I might even get to be on a panel this year but I'm not holding my breath for that possibility.
Sunday we got up early and went to church for
beldar's membership pledge. It was a nice ceremony and he was in a very large company (about 17 others). We really are going to have to expand soon. Afterwards we had leftovers from the International dinner and art auction that was the night before and then went home. After more TV watching (DVR less than 50% now) we went out to Crackers to see
Emo Phillips! *BIG SQUEE!!* OMG! he was just as funny and wonderful as he is on TV and due to a couple of girls getting skiddish about being up front, we ended up on the front row. Again, super-awesome (2 billion hot-dog's worth). After the show, he signed my autograph shirt (complete with kiss) and we dashed home in the remnants of a storm that has been described (by
FARK) as "God protesting Indiana adopting daylight-savings, drops softball-sized hail" . We just had the aftermath of possible tornados but still, the weather was rough.
Yesterday we had planned to do laundry after work but
beldar was so late getting home that by the time we finished eating (and that took forever too), it was too late to start. So, we get to do laundry tonight.
That's about it but I would like to leave you with our favorite TV quote from the weekend: "I'm going to go dust the fridge ... for cake" - Billy O'Brien (Billy Gardell) - "Heist"
If you aren't watching the show, you seriously should. It's fantastically well written.
More tomorrow.
TTFN!
