Well, today's post has it all, the good, the bad and the ugly.

First the good. My weekend was pretty darn wonderful. Friday night's Whoosier party was great. veronica_rich showed up and brought her wonderful cranberry salad (which was good because I really couldn't eat much else that was there. I must get the recipe for it from her. I made a miniature dalek ( Read more... )

I think you should make a chocolate dessert for a holiday party if you have one and melt some Ex-Lax into it. Make sure everyone but Bitch knows about it. Or you could make cupcakes and be certain those particular ones are decorated a special way and tell people to take all but those.

Years ago before anyone on here met me, I briefly dated a girl who did just that: to deal with her coworkers who were stealing her food, she baked Ex-Lax into brownies and left them on her desk. Her workplace, by the way, was a Marion County criminal court. Based on what I read in the newspaper (I was no longer dating her), it was only her the fact that her father was a politically-connected cop who had pull with the prosecutor that kept her from being charged with assault.

Boy I've dated some peculiar women.

That does remind me, though, of that criminal court where she worked. I've never seen a place before with more backstabbing and intrigue. It was like everyone who worked there was a junior version of the Bitch. Not one of them individually could hold a candle to the Bitch, but their MOs were the same: make themselves look good at the expense of someone else, and the more expensive the better.

It's sad that people choose to behave that way.

That happens a lot in government work, you'd be surprised (or not). My mother and sister have been in state government work for a total of almost 40 years, together, and while plenty of the employees just want to do a good job with the least fuss, there are enough who want nothing more than to collect a check while socializing and stabbing, who make it all look bad.

Y'know, normally one's life would have to be pretty empty to have to blog about Jell-o, but dammit, that was some MIGHTY FINE JELLO. Especially for a bargain-price steakhouse chain buffet.

Just occurred to me, it's getting to the point that if you submitted a script with the stuff the bitch has been doing to the producers of "The Office" they'd reject it as being too far from reality.
