Usually, Jason did not bother a woman, or even a teenage girl, if they carried a weapon. There were a couple of very specific scars on him that related to these lessons. But see, this little Japanese chick kept catching his eye

Jack could hardly control his thoughts. The walk from his place was boring and ordinary and his mind tended to wander. Just because he was in a relationship, married, devoted, it didn't mean he didn't think. He thought of Logan, of course. He thought of Logan often. But he also thought of Helen, of Maureen, of The Doctor and House and others. Today a bee had lit on his arm and he looked down and his thoughts wandered to that one time on that cramped freighter with the alien that had evolved from wasps and what an enormous organ he'd had and...
He saw Jason and smiled.
"Hi there," Jack said, friendly as always. "You doing okay?"
"Do you fuck everything that moves, or is it just things with two legs that move?" Jason asked before he could stop himself. "I mean, you don't even want to know what's goin' on in here. He will not shut up."
"Yeah, I mean, not totally new on account I know the guy, but he's never been in my head telling me whether people like men or women." Jason leaned forward, eyes wide and serious. "Sexually."
With his mind on his new powers, Billy's spending most of his day half distracted and practicing whenever he can. He still feels guilty every time he accidentally scares someone or thinks about the previous day, but he's putting that behind him, because he's getting better.
He's been practicing with silverware in the kitchen, and decides to take it a step further. Backing into the rec room, Billy's concentrating on floating ten different spoons (no forks or knives; he's got two band aids on his arms already) along with him.
Jason clicked his pen and poised it above his notebook. "Okay, I'm gonna need your name, your age, and how gay you feel like you are, as opposed to how gay I think you are. This is, uh, science. Yeah, it's science."
Whoever's pulling this crap's more creative than the beetles that made her suit, and Kate's trying to take it all in stride. She is taking it all in stride when it comes to dealing with people who've been changed. She's actually pretty good at that, but she's freaking out a little and she knows it's stupid but she kinda needs to see Will and make sure he's not turning into a lizard-plant Cillobar thing, and check on Magnus, Declan, and Tesla too.
That's what she's doing, stealth-sliding through the Compound, is hoping she's going to find them helping people, maybe find Will at the Psych Office when she hears Gaga coming from the jukebox. And since the thing's got the worst taste in the history of ever most of the time, she's curious to see who it's playing it for.
Nice. Kate gives the cutie a good long look over, then stops, leaning in the doorway to drawl, "Whole lotta stuff can happen overnight."
"Yeah, I'm gonna say..." Jason waved the pen he'd picked up a while ago as if using it to divine something. "You're pretty equal opportunity. Men and women, maybe a little more about the men."
To be fair, he wasn't sure what equal opportunity in this instance meant until Lafayette explained it all to him, but it made sense now.
"You're scoring people on their sexuality?" Kate asks as she arches out of her lean and prowls toward him. She's not sure whether that's adorable, ballsy, or just really fucking annoying.
On the other hand, he's right, and it's not something she's ever felt a need to hide, so she smirks when she gets closer, and says, "I appreciate your fairness too." What the hell, right? He's cute and even if she's still working, trying to figure this island shit out, no reason she can't have a little fun or save some for later.
"I'm not scoring exactly," Jason said, hedging his answer. "I'm, uh. Well, see, there's this voice in my head and it's telling me how gay people are. Weirder shit has happened to me."
"...are you okay?" Cameron asked. There were a whole lot of weird things going on here, so he wouldn't be surprised if a lot was going wrong, and this guy looked like he'd been on the wrong end of something, although Cameron had no idea what. Or maybe it was something completely unrelated to the island's madness, although that might even be less desirable, likelier to last longer. Either way, the guy looked a little unnerved; it was worth checking he was alright.
[Cameron's probably at most a 1 on the Kinsey scale - very much straight, but I wouldn't rule things out altogether. Either way, he totally needs to meet more people. 8D]
"I'm just fine, man," Jason said. "And you are..." Drumroll please. "Straight. Yeah, pretty damn straight. Then again, this place can change a guy. No such thing as a conventional relationship on a magic fuckin' island."
Lafayette has better vocabulary than him, mostly.
"This shit is crazy. Every person who comes in here, I gotta tell them what they are."
"...so, what, you have the ability to read peoples'... sexuality?" Cameron asked, a little thrown by the sudden declaration. Well, that and the disclaimer following it. Around here, it was probably truer than anywhere else; this place and the people in it were unpredictable, and while he'd never had any inclination to start dating guys, there seemed to be a lot of that happening here. "That's a weird one. But I guess at least you're not turning into a mermaid, right?"
He didn't mean to make fun of that guy or anything, it was just hard to ignore that this place had given someone a tail. The whole thing was weirding him out, but he was kind of relieved he hadn't got caught up in it.
Jason was momentarily lost. He'd be such a good fucking mermaid, though. Merman. Merman. Swimming under the ocean and shit, and blowing little bubbles and singing with fish.
"A mermaid? Huh."
He shook his head until he could pay attention again.
"Yeah, it's like, uh. I don't know. Hey, who's turning into a mermaid?"

Fortunately for Jack, he didn't need to think. Half the time he simply opened his mouth and words came out.
"I don't care how many legs there are," he said. "You've got a new voice...in your head."
That might be weird if they were anywhere but here.
