There were a few things that Sam knew for sure. First, that being a twenty-seven year old in a seven year old's body didn't actually stop him from feeling like a seven year old. Second, that having a reminder like this of the time his father had disappeared, presumably left him, made it a whole lot more difficult to pretend like he wasn't still affected by that whole situation, even after the closure he'd gotten

Though he'd had to expect as much, Sam couldn't help the disappointment evident in his expression upon hearing that answer, his chin lowering slightly. Of course it wouldn't be his dad. He'd been lucky enough to get him back once, however short-lived that might have been; a second time would have been too much, he was sure.
"No," he said, frowning, and gave a slight shake of his head. "He's not here, and I'm not lost. You just look like him, is all."
Quorra was still wearing the "Flynn Lives" t-shirt that Sam had pulled from the clothes box as she skipped along the path looking for the next fun thing to do. The man looked familiar even from a distance, but she didn't really believe it until he was right in front of her.
She froze in her tracks and stared at him.
He didn't look exactly the same, but it was close enough.
Quorra smiled. Even if it wasn't really him, for one moment she believed that here was the closest thing she'd had to a family for as many years as she could remember.
So, it's been an interesting couple of days. First, I wake up in some fancy pants mansion, which'd be a real dream come true, if it didn't come attached to a few pretty tangled strings: no amazing spider powers, no Aunt May, no New York, and I've been unmasked? I mean, come on, I know the Parker luck hangs around me like a bad penny, but I couldn't have caught one break in all this? Seriously? (Well, okay, the fact that I woke up with my web-shooters digging into my wrists could technically qualify as a break, not counting my Spidey suit poking out from underneath the super swank bed, but I'm working a real woe betide me angle, and that didn't jibe.)
Just getting the heck out of Dodge proved an adventure in and of itself, spitting out a lot more questions than it did answers, and my exploration of this whole Tabula Rasa place hasn't proven much better. Apparently there's some kind of weird spell going around, making older folks young and younger folks old, and ladies men and men ladies, but magic's not something I put a whole lotta

Well, that's not embarrassing at all. Sure, I haven't really showered in a couple of days, and my suit's pretty smelly, but that doesn't mean he has to call me on it.
Billy had large sunglasses of his own on, despite sitting in the shade of the Hub. Most of the time, he didn't really care if people knew who he was, but sometimes, he just wanted to hide. This time, he'd even tried dressing up in clothes he considered a lot more girly than usual, hoping it'd help with his anonymity. (They didn't. The bright orange top probably got more attention than he wanted.)
He'd sat at a table reading a while, people watching (kid watching, mostly) and sipping on a simple juice drink, when he noticed someone -- but not just anyone, either. Billy slid his sunglasses up into his hair, pushing back a mass of curls in the process. He couldn't help staring, however.
Not when the person he was staring at was The Dude.
"Uh, no," Billy said, stunned that a) he'd been caught, and b) The Dude was talking to him. "Sorry, I just-- you look like someone familiar. Really familiar."

"Are you Flynn? It's me, Quorra, only smaller."
She hoped it was really him.
