That time again. This time, walking up to the board and grabbing the pencil, I scrawl out a handful of names:
Sookie Stackhouse Lucy Carrigan Kara Thrace
And even though I'm half sure he'll decline after everything that's happened lately, I add, Dean Winchester 'cause I still believe it's somethin' he could be really good at.
While Walter had a very shaky concept of island government, and very little investment in its workings, he stopped by the board and wrote in two additions, in surprisingly elegant script.
Olivia Dunham That lovely young lady with the glasses and the charming accent, and the traditionally masculine name.
He of course, was talking about Fred Burkle. Hopefully someone who came by after him would figure that out.
When Sawyer saw the rather long description on the sign-up sheet, he laughed, shaking his head before scrawling right next to the script, handwriting neater than most people would have assumed a man like him could manage:
Think this is referring to Fred Burkle. And even if it ain't, consider this my nomination.
He'd considered writing in Buffy's name, but after the death of The First, he'd been told how relieved she'd been, being able to finally free herself of the role of general and leader.
So, he hesitated, and instead, added only one name:
While she'd planned on trying to get to the sign-up sheet as early as possible, Sookie found that a few names had been written down already; seeing her own and Mitchell's both listed had her bursting into a full smile (familiar though the handwriting was), before she swallowed thickly and considered who else she wanted to add, worrying her lower lip.
Less than a month ago, she would have added two names to the list, but with recent disappearances, she didn't even know if Peter wanted the job. So it was with a soft breath that she added a single name:
While Hermione knew that the person she had in mind was relatively new to the island, the fact that there was rather a strong concentration of people who remained on the island from anywhere to one to two years had Hermione wondering if it was best to stagger nominees by arrival date, on a practical level if nothing else. And although she did believe that at least one island veteran needed to make it onto the Council, the person she had in mind had a great deal of common sense and a familiarity with economics that she was sure would make the partitioning of goods and services easier, even without a strict currency.
So it was with a soft nod to herself that she wrote, in fine print:
