Jack was looking for something he might be able to use as a shower head. He figured he'd try here before risking a trip into the TARDIS. Ever since he'd been trapped there he was wary.

He peeked out from behind a pile of junk to see Maureen and then abandoned his search to go see what she was raging about.

"Hey," he said smoothly, giving her a warm, if cautious, smile.

Maureen hadn't seen much of Jack at all in the past month. She told herself that this was because she hadn't seen much of anyone - but if she had to be honest, she might have gone a little out of her way to avoid him.

She had never had trouble telling Jack and Patrick apart, not even when she'd just met Patrick even though she'd done a double-take at first.

But given how incredibly edgy she was right now, and how distracted, and how unexpected his appearance was - when Maureen turned toward the voice and saw him, she damn near jumped out of her skin. Suddenly her heart was racing, her breath halting.

The flash of fear in her eyes was instinctive, but it only took a second for her to say, "Jack." And then her body relaxed a little even if it still felt like her heart was about to pound out of her chest.

That...was not the reaction he'd expected. Jack gave her a curious once over and then came closer.

"Are you okay, Maureen? You look like you're about ready to fall apart."

"Do I?" She wondered if that was an improvement over just numb. "Sorry. For a second I thought you were - " She shook her head. "I'm okay, I'm just. Um. Blowing off some steam."

"Maureen?" Delirium said, announcing her presence before she gently touched Maureen's arm. She didn't like to see Maureen like this and there wasn't much Del could do now she was human but she knew one way that always worked in distracting mortals.

Running her hand down her arm, Delirium slipped underneath so she could stand infront of Maureen. Tilting her head Delirium half-smiled at her as she leaned up onto her tiptoes and brushed her soft lips against Maureen's. Pressing her lips against Maureen's, Del sighed in delight before she kissed Maureen properly. Sometimes, Del had to admit, Desire had the best ideas.

Maureen was surprised when Del suddenly appeared behind her, and even more surprised when she kissed her.

Honestly she wasn't sure if she would have reacted the same if it was a man, given how jumpy she was - but it wasn't. And she found herself relaxing, though she pulled away before the kiss got too deep.

"Hi there," she said softly.

Delirium said rambling away quite happily, her hand stroking Maureen's arm calmly and gently even though Del wasn't quite all there. Delirium leaned up and kissed Maureen, gentle and kind on the cheek instead of on the lips this time. "Maureen kisses are nice. you werE Mad at the tREE?"

"No," Maureen sighed. "I wasn't mad at the tree, just..." Given the state Del seemed to be in, it didn't seem like a good idea to explain, even if she'd felt like it.

"Just having a bad day," she finished. Then she smiled a little. "Thanks. Your kisses are nice too."

The scrapyard hadn't ever been a place Bill visited, really, but when he was walking by and heard a familiar voice yelling he didn't hesitate to change course and head in that direction.

"Hey," he said, stopping a bit away in case she wasn't done throwing things. "I've missed you."

Maureen jumped a little at the voice, but relaxed when she recognized it, and turned toward him, offering a smile that didn't quite meet her eyes.

"Hi, Bill," she said. "I'm sorry I've been, um. Not around."

She didn't seem inclined to throw anything else, so Bill chanced a few steps closer, stopping when he was just a couple of feet away. "Where've you been hiding? Not all on your own, I hope."

Maureen hesitated and then said, "I haven't really been feeling like myself."

She closed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Better now, though. Starting to feel better. How are you?"

Freddie wasn't at all sure what he was doing there. It was a stupid move and he wasn't usually known for his stupid moves. His temper, maybe, and his reactions to the Russians and the press, but not stupid moves. Yet here he was, standing at the place where he'd practically been blown up. He hadn't expected anyone to be there, so the loud shout made him jump. It took him less than a split-second to place the voice.

Maureen.

He sighed, recognized in himself the fact that he wasn't just going to walk away, and headed over to her. "Only if you can try to explain it to Prior," he said, not really being serious.

Maureen blinked, at first a little startled by his presence and not realizing what he was saying, but then... oh. Right.

She offered him a wavering smile and said, "You know, he hasn't actually come out and told me about you two. Not that you were doing a very good job of hiding it if that was your intention."

"It's not," Freddie promised. "At least...not on my end." Although there may have been people, like Maureen, he hadn't actively told. Or anyone, actually, except Lex when he was trying to bait the man. "It's just been...us."

Maureen's smile got a little brighter. "I really am glad," she said sincerely. "I mean... I'm happy for you. I was really worried about him for a while. And, um... I won't tell him. About you and me, I mean."
