There were things on the island that didn't happen very often and when they did they devestated everything and everyone in their path. Like the hurricane that had destroyed peoples homes or the bad people that came and hurt people or the island kidnapping people and leaving them stuck in dinosaur territory or like the teenager in a mood hellbent on

"Sorry," Coraline said sullenly, frowning as she threw another piece down away from Juliet and into an empty space. "I didn't see you there. I'll put up a sign."

I could go back to my hut and spend some time with Mrs. O'Leary, of course, but I was in the sort of mood where, though I was alone, I didn't particularly want company. I kicked at a stone with more force than I'd intended. It skittered up the pathway and smacked the trunk of a tree.
Then something dropped from the tree and whacked me in the head. I stumbled, and rubbed my scalp. "Ow!"

"Sorry, Percy." Coraline said, pulling and kicking at another plank of wood until it came free and fell noisily to the ground away from Percy. "I didn't see you there. You shouldn't walk under people's treehouses though when they're demolishing them. It's very dangerous."

Not that she didn't love her little sister because she did. She just missed it being just her and Adam.

"Sorry!" Coraline shouted down, her voice sharper than she intended. She was just so annoyed, it was so unfair. "You should watch where you're going or pay attention. I mean, what if I had been a ninja trying to hurt you?

"What are you doing up there?" he asked, moving on from the ninja topic.

He's still lost in it, when the plank drops into view, close enough to his face to startle him into smacking it away. "Hey watch it," he calls irritably, looking up to catch who threw it. Finding a young girl in the tree has him frowning at his tone, but not quite apologizing for it. "You alright up there," he asks instead.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking. It didn't hit you, did it?" Coraline asked curiously. She hoped it hadn't or Adam would tell her off for skipping class and for assaulting someone. "I'm fine, I'm just taking my treehouse down. It's- it's ruined."

"Think there's room up there for me to help," Morgan offers, flashing her a smile. His knee probably won't appreciate scaling trees as a break from his run, but it isn't so bad he's going to leave her to pick the place apart on her own.

Coraline's sulky scowl brightened a little, her lips turning upwards in a small smile at the little tease. "I think there might be a little room."

Such was the reason she was walking aroung, when a plank of wood fell at her feet, breaking her from her daydream (she was a famous swordswoman).
"Hey!" she called out, looking up and finding Coraline through the trees. "You almost hit me." Indeed, a few inches closer and the board would've come down on her head.

"Sorry Flick, I mean Felicity." Coraline shouted down. Coraline huffed, blowing a piece of hair out of her face before she threw down another piece of wood. This piece though was aimed far away from Felicity. "It didn't hit you though, did it?"
Reply
"No, thank goodness." She moved aside as Coraline threw down another piece of wood.
"Coraline," It came to her. "This is the hurricane's doing, isn't it."
