Make no mistake: Disco was super cheesy. That doesn't mean that it wasn't also super fun. The whole point of the movement was being free and ridiculous, and even after living through the backlash in the Eighties when everyone conveniently forgot they'd been disco fiends, I had to give all those dancing queens credit for knowing how to have a good

Nearly overbalancing, Reid reaches out to steady himself against the wall. "This is such a bad idea," he repeats, and puffs some hair from his eyes.

"C'mon. I promise I won't let you fall."

The music assaults him the moment he steps through the gymnasium doors, pounding loud and entirely different from what he's used to. Skates slung over his shoulder, he falters in the doorway with sudden sensory overload, and has to stop to catch his breath.

"Yeah, it is a little overwhelming. People from the future seem to like their music loud and their lighting flashy," he nodded. It made the kind of dances he used to go to look sedate in comparison, which was saying something given how raucous the dancehalls could get. He hadn't skated since he was six, maybe seven, so when he did hit the floor (figuratively) he was all flailing limbs and the slow lane until he hit the floor (literally). But his elbow didn't hurt so much with a full stomach and the music was delightfully ridiculous.

When she heard the strange music coming out one of the buildings, she of course had gone to investigate. Still dressed in the clothes she'd arrived in but minus her staff, she looked out of place but Gabrielle could have cared less. She was too busy marveling at everything, especially the odd shoes with wheels some people were wearing. Unable to herself, she began moving a bit to the music, beaming all the while.

"There are spare skates over there, if you wanted to try them," I told her as I rolled up and pointed to the area beside the bleachers.
