Throwing a party was a lot more work than Logan had anticipated, and he found himself grateful for a change that Jack had so many friends. "I don't want to talk about the club tonight. it's your birthday, we should talk about things that wont start a fight."
He stopped dancing and stroked Jack's hair. "You want a beer?" he offered.

"I'd love a beer. I'm so glad Ianto's finally gotten it down. His brew isn't bad at all."

"It's about a million times better than moonshine, that's for damn sure," Logan agreed, wandering off to fetch them a bottle each.

Jack had spoken to so many people, may of them who just walked right up to him- even the strangers. While Logan, who was meant to be the host, had barely exchanged words with anyone but Jack.

"I'm gonna... I think I need to go sit for a while," he lied, nodding towards the hut. "Go have a few more dances, enjoy your party, okay?" he said, smiling stiffly and kissing Jack quickly on the lips. "I'll come find you when people start to leave."

"You should say hi to him though. it was cool of him to come play."

"Do you really want to go inside? I know you hate these things...but I like having you here."

"Jack, when no one even wants to say hi to the host, it's time for the host to leave," he replied. "I'm just- I'm not like you. I don't think you get how weird it is, standing here, watching everyone laugh and smile, and knowing that maybe all of 5 of them even know I'm here. I'm not like you, I don't thrive at parties. Why do you think no one ever bothered to throw me one? They were saving me the embarrassment of having no one turn up.
Swallowing down his self pity, he smiled. "I did this because it's your thing, and I wanted you to have a good time. So have one. That's all I want right now. I want you to have a good birthday."

"Yeah, I know. Go on, go entertain the masses," he said, smacking Jack playfully on the ass before turning away.
The party had seemed like such a good idea, but now that it was actually happening, Logan felt like he'd just sucker-punched himself somehow.

He loved having the chance to play. Even if it was a little weird to be playing at a party for Jack, the man he'd punched in the face not so many months ago.
