Despite the amount of free time Teal'c had on Tabula Rasa, he did not get to indulge himself by watching television very often. There was no signal here, but plenty of reels on the bookcase, which was a good chance to catch up on those he had missed ( Read more... )

He'd been drawn by that music, really. He couldn't not recognize it. During some prolonged moment of insanity (which he chose to believe was partly the fault of Vala), he had watched far too many episodes of that terrible show to forget.

Still, he was drawn like a particularly masochistic moth to a campfire. The ridiculous line still drew an exasperated groan, perhaps moreso after hearing it so many times.

"Whatever you've done, Teal'c, there must be a better way to punish yourself for it than to watch that."

Teal'c looked over as Colonel Mitchell entered the room, but he said nothing as he was busy watching the screen and he did not know how much Colonel Mitchell wished to concentrate on it.

He could understand the groan for the line was very much a cliché and certainly not anything O'Neill would have said. Teal'c had not met anyone of the rank of Colonel who would say such a thing either. Yet it undoubtedly made the fans happy.

"This is not a punishment," he said, when Colonel Mitchell spoke. "It is most intriguing."

As much as Ronon enjoyed hunting, the compound was convenient. Like the mess hall but often with better quality food. He sometimes took books from the shelf and ignored the reels, for the most part he was unimpressed with television and it never gave him movies he liked. Nothing would convince him to watch Blades of Glory again.

It surprised him to find Teal'c watching something, and after a moment of it which was disturbingly familiar. He folded his arms and glared at the screen before turning back to Teal'c. "They made you a robot?"

"Indeed," Teal'c said, in a tone that conveyed he was less than impressed with that change. "I believe they do not think the public would accept an alien on such a team." It made sense, given that Stargate Command had some difficulty accepting him, although that was because they were unsure of what side he was on. He did not wish to speculate about what it was about him that made Martin Lloyd's faulty memory imagine he was a robot.

"He is yet to utter a word, however." Although he had not been watching this particular episode long he wondered when Grell would say something."

Ronon thought of the hassle he'd had from the IOA and the fact they'd had to redress him before he could even go out on Earth and nodded in agreement with Teal'c's assessment. "Don't see why a robot's better," he muttered thinking of the replicators.

Ronon couldn't help it when Teal'c pointed out that the robot was somewhat stoic. "Indeed," he said.

"I do not think a robot is better, necessarily. But obviously Martin Lloyd felt it was the best approximation to what he could remember." Although Teal'c did not know what the audiences had thought of Grell. Now he wondered, but could not find out until he returned home.

At Ronon's "Indeed" Teal'c raised an eyebrow. However, on this occasion, he did it on purpose to avoid speaking and there was a twinkle in his eye and a very slight smile to go with it.
