Well here was quite an unusual family gathering, Aly mused. Man and green woman and lion cub, settled comfortably together. It looked so peaceful and simple she couldn't help a little envy; it was the kind of life that would never suit her, though the gods bless those whom it did. It also made her miss Nawat, whose absence jabbed at her on the island.

"It seems a fine night for such celebrations," she commented cheerfully.

Elphaba sat up from her place in Fiyero's lap and laughed, lazy island years softening her harsh cackle to an easy chuckle. "It is! Come join us. Fiyero's a better fisherman than he realized. Not even this one's greedy gut could manage it all." Kalm, hearing himself mentioned lifted his head then wormed behind the Ozian couple, like their bodies could hide his over five foot long frame. Elphaba grinned again and gestured to the spot he'd vacated, "Kalm's made you room even."

Fiyero chuckled as he shook his head at both the happy laugh of his Fae and the antics of the young lion. "There is plenty and really, you'd be saving Kalm from a belly ache." He scratched the lion's head fondly, just in the right spot to calm him down a bit. "I'm Fiyero and this is Elphaba. It would be our pleasure for you to join us."

"I don't think I've ever seen a lion so shy," she observed with a laugh. She was tempted to reach out and try to pet him, but it seemed a risky idea; she didn't know if he was this docile with everyone or only his masters.

"I'm Aly, and if you're being so generous, how could I refuse?" She smiled as she nodded. "Thank you."

Both welcome! gorramcheerful July 1 2009, 13:58:35 UTC
It was always too easy to go a wanderin'. Especially when the air was warm, but the heat not too much and especially on the Beach. Kaylee could hear the music (music she were none too familiar with either), and she could see the glow of a fire - most folks here were welcoming, and when curiosity called her to ..just peer in a little closer the mechanic saw what she hadn't expected; and it wasn't just the green skinned woman either, there was what looked like a lion, not a baby ..but a little fella and she got caught up in staring at the furry, big-eared but most certain adorable beast ( ... )

Kalm was sprawled out on his back, like an oversized house cat, silently demanding belly rubs which Elphaba gladly gave, with as little concern as she might have shown a fifteen pound cat and not a speck of the fear that a hundred and fifty pound lion should inspire. So blissed out was Kalm that he didn't even react to the newcomer's presence. Surprising, considering how skittish he usually was.

"Kalm knows that if he waits, he won't get his nose burned," the green woman explained. "Would you like to join us? We have plenty."

"That and I believe he's enjoying having his belly rubbed while laying in the warm sand, since he's spoiled enough to know that half these fish will be his." Fiyero added with a chuckle as he waved at the women to join them. "And even with his half, there is plenty to share."

Kaylee grinned just a little. "He must be smart as well then." Again she's pretty sure some of the badly trained critters she's had around her home would find their whiskers burned off more than once in the quest for a treat and still think it worthwhile. She gazed at the animal soaking up the affection happily, how sweet. "Guess it's proof even somethin' fierce as a Lion can be undone by a proper bellyrub same as a housecat, huh?"

She's welcomed by both, and a wider smile is offered to both, she wouldn't back down on such a nice offer, looking between the two. "Y'Sure of it? That's awful kind of you t'share." Even if she felt ..she sort of ought to double-check, she didn't quite hesitate still to sit with them, the fish was already beginning to smell wonderful. "I'm Kaylee." She offered out a hand to shake.

The last thing Jo expected to hear on the beach was music, especially since it didn't seem to be coming from anywhere. When she went closer to investigate she found Fiyero and Elphaba. It was strange seeing the two of them together, but then she supposed she was sort of married or going to be or something, which made it just the same on her side too.

So she smiled at them and dropped to her knees to greet Kalm and her eyes lit up at the sight of the iPod. "You have an iPod too." Needless to say, ever since she'd seen people with them she wanted one, so she was hoping it would turn out to be next January's random present.

ooc: Either or both, I'm indecisive that way!

Kalm rubbed his head against her hand in greeting as Fiyero leaned over to kiss her cheek. He kissed Elpahaba once more as well before she moved to tend the fish. "Hello Jo, and yes! I have three in fact. All gifts from the island and filled with music from your world. The last even had old movies I'm told are called musicals.

Jo smiled at both Fiyero and Elphaba, and stroked Kalm's head. "Three's just greedy," she teased. "What do you think of the music and the musicals on them? Is there any Elvis?" She didn't know how much Fiyero knew of Earth music or how much of it was from her time, but everyone must know Elvis at least.

"I suppose. It's one for every year I've been here." Fiyero replied with a small laugh, taking in the teasing. "And I adore them. The music from where you are from seems to covers every mood and beat." He thought for a moment to see if the name was familiar, then he smiled again. "Yes! Your King of Rock and Roll right?"
