Once, Cameron had been mysteriously transported to the other side of the island, where she'd actually fallen into the carcass of a dinosaur as another threatened to eat her. She had considered it one of the worst things the island had done to her, but also the most frightening.
Until this, anyway.
She peeped around the doorway at House, doing her best to spy without being caught-- unfortunately, she wasn't sure he would have lost any of his sense of perception. Probably best to just go in, then.
"You know, you don't have to be here today," she started.
House looked up, and smiled broadly. "Allison," he greeted warmly. Then he waved a hand dismissively. "I'm just making up for some of the time I've missed recently. Though I haven't had any patients, unfortunately... would you like some tea? I could go get you a cup. It's very good."
"I'm fine, thank you," Cameron said, a little bit dazed in spite of herself. She sat down on the edge of the desk. "Wow, and you're-- you're writing letters."
"Yes, I am finding it easier to express myself in writing." He gestured. "There is one with your name on it, though it seems rude to give you a letter when you're standing right here."
Saffron didn't generally make a habit of visiting the clinic when none of her friends were there as patients, but when she spotted House through the open door she headed over, knowing enough about the place to know it wasn't his turn for duty. "Just can't get enough of this place, Doctor?" she asked with a little smirk, going to perch on the edge of the desk where he was writing.
"Helen," House greeted warmly, giving her a brilliant smile. "I just thought I might be able to relieve someone else for a time. You look beautiful today."
Her eyebrows raised slowly in an incredulous look. Yeah, he was definitely affected. "Thank you, sugar," she replied, after a slow blink and a slight shake of her head. Shaking the shock off mentally, she gave him a smile. "How are you feeling?"
"Very well," House said truthfully. "You're not ill, are you? That would be unfortunate, though I'd be happy to help you, of course." He looked almost hopeful. "Is there anything I can do to help you?"
"Hi, Dr House!" Stephen greeted happily. He didn't want to bother the man; he was so busy with saving lives and all. But he couldn't be rude enough to just ignore someone's presence.
Stephen wouldn't make himself unwelcome, though. Just a quick hello and pass on through.
"Right now? No, not at all. I don't have any patients, so I'm just catching up on some correspondence." He realized that it often seemed like Stephen would like to talk to him, and it had really been very rude to rebuff and avoid him. Feeling apologetic, he added, "If you're not on your way anywhere, you're welcome to join me for some conversation."
Chase hadn't let go of Nate in about forty-eight hours and he was just whiling time away and knowing that soon, he had to make a decision and go somewhere. Somewhere not where the Doctor was. House was one choice, but he had to figure out if he was normal or not. One good look at him proved he wasn't an option. "Shit," he exhaled heavily.
House looked up at him, smiling warmly. "I was just thinking about you, Rob," he added. Then he turned his attention to Nate and added, "And how are you, little man?" Back to Chase, he added, "You really should watch the swearing around the little guy. You look a bit tired. Do you want me to watch him for a few minutes?"
And if things weren't bad enough, Chase always forgot how much happy-House made him feel like he wanted to take a great big downer and push it into his mouth. "No. No, I'm not letting him out of my sight," Chase insisted, easing Nate closer despite the babbling. "He can't be near the Doctor, I won't let him. He could get hurt."
"The Doctor? Oh, I can't imagine he would do anything to the little angel," House said, looking concerned. "Still, I can understand wanting to protect your child..." He suddenly sighed, a touch wistful. "Do you think it's too late for me to have children?"
Grabbing a mango from the fruit bowl, Logan didn't even notice House at first, all his attention focused on the speech in his hand. It was the fifth revision, but he knew he'd only just begun. After all, it would have to be perfect by the time the election rolled around.
Tucking the mango under his chin, he grabbed a cup of coffee as well, juggling his things as he pulled a chair out with his foot and sat down. Only then did he notice the doctor, and he nodded a polite hello as he set his things down.
As if all their past fights were suddenly insignificant. Just leaves on the breeze.
However, he paused when he noticed all the paper, frowning slightly as he took a sip from his mug. "You're not working on a speech, are you, doc?" he asked, looking just the slightest bit uneasy.
House looked up, a small smile settling on his face when he saw Logan. "A speech? No, no, just catching up on some correspondence." He shuffled the papers a little. "Though I'm glad you're here. I believe I owe you an apology."
"Not necessary," Logan replied, waving his hand dismissively. "Our past quarrels are nothing more than just that, past quarrels. You were right to think of me as infantile before. I mean, heck, I was wasting my life surfing and embracing sodomy... Of course that's all changed. No more wasting my life. I plan on finding myself a wife, and spending my free time on island politics."

"I'm fantastic! How are you? Very busy?" House seemed to be working on something important.
