The second time on the island he'd woken up as a woman was a bit stranger. Partly because Austen had come along for the ride. Mostly because he'd most certainly woken up in his own hut in his own clothing--which now did not fit as well as they had the night before.

It did, however, clear up why the island had decided to bestow upon him a kitten. ( Read more... )

Oh, hell yes, James thought when he happened upon the woman and cat. More people had pets on the island, he realized. That wasn't where his attention was, though. After finding Sirius in his...condition, James was feeling quite docile indeed. "Having a bit of trouble?" he asked lazily.

He turned toward the man with an annoyed frown. It wasn't annoyance at the man in particular, so much as being stuck in the basement in a shirt and jeans too large for him, and the clothing box' mockery. That, and his having breasts.

He pointed down at the box. "Are you offering to fish something decent out of there?"

If you asked James, he would have said that what the clothing box was coming up with was pretty decent, indeed, especially when one stopped to consider the morning's attire...or lack thereof.

"I'm not sure that this thing will ever give off anything decent," he pointed out, then had a go at the clothing box anyway. What it gave him wasn't much of an improvement if she was looking for one, but the small t-shirt that said HOOTERS across the front covered more at least.

Cameron had never thought he'd consider a Hooters shirt more appropriate than anything, without ulterior motives. As it was, he gave a frustrated sigh, and held out a hand for the shirt. "I'll settle for something I won't get arrested for wearing in public."

Teal'c was disturbed at what had transpired this morning. It was not altogether different from seeing a Goa'uld take another body from an outsiders perspective. However, he was glad it had not happened to him.

It meant that he made sure to observe everyone closely before he greeted them, not knowing whether a friend or an enemy would appear different. The woman in the Compound was not familiar, but the kitten with her was. As Teal'c watched, head tilted, he was certain this was someone he knew.

"Colonel Mitchell," he greeted. "This is most unexpected."

He didn't wonder how Teal'c recognized him. He was still wearing his own muscle shirt and jeans--incredibly over sized. He also doubted Austen kitten had let any member of New Atlantis slip by without investigation.

And even if those weren't valid points, it was Teal'c. He just knew those sorts of things.

Cameron huffed in annoyance, and turned toward the Jaffa. "Is this place demented?"

"I do not believe so." Not in the strictest sense of the word anyway. "But your cat might be." There might have been the hint of a smile as he said that.

"Oh, hey now. She's only a kitten, big guy." A kitten with an occasionally disturbing lack of self preservation instinct. Maybe that would come after the cute and fuzzy stage.

"You wanna try and find something more appropriate in there? Currently my options are apparently the slept-in look, and Vegas stripper."

The only real problem Wanda (yes, Wanda, she had to force herself to keep thinking that way, if only to make things easier when she inevitably got changed back) was having that morning was that, as a woman, she'd liked her clothes form-fitting, for the most part. This left her with few wearable options as a very well-built guy. He'd managed to come up with a pair of track pants and a t-shirt that were only about two sizes too small for him and had managed to make it to the Compound without scratching up his bare feet too much, though, so he (no, she) was doing pretty well so far.

It was taking more getting used to than she'd have thought to regain her old swagger (it really been a while) but she was nevertheless whistling when she hit up the clothes box to find something better suited. It was probably going to be a popular destination, seeing as she doubted she was the only one afflicted. She certainly couldn't be that lucky ( ... )

The man was unfamiliar, but judging from his reversed state of dress, that was to be expected. Austen glanced up at the man briefly, before returning to her attempts to scale or otherwise combat the box.

Cameron huffed, glancing over in the direction of the man. "That's easy for you to say. You wanna trade?"

"Those do look about my size," Wanda said, looking at the woman's current attire and shrugging. "I think I'll try my luck with the box, but who knows, I just might have to take you up on that. Got plenty of cute outfits back at my place," he offered before frowning. Things like that sounded a lot gayer, all of a sudden.

Bending over to see what would turn up, he spared a small smirk for the kitten.

Austen gave an important...chirping noise, as if she expected the new stranger to assist her in her conquest of the box. Cameron frowned at the man a few moments.

The man seemed flexible enough that the hair seemed out of the ordinary. That, combined with the man's swap, made Cameron fairly suspicious of his identity.

"Cute outfits, huh?"

Anita woke up that morning and at first wasn't sure what to think. Sitting waiting for her was a box of ammo for every one of her guns. She picked them up and mumbled thanks before heading for coffee. She wasn't in the mood to run this morning so she found herself heading to the box. If the place was happy enough with her to give her ammo maybe, just maybe, she could get some clothes that she would approve of.

"It probably will anyway, even if it doesn't stop with you." She wasn't sure she knew the other woman, but that wasn't too surprising. Other than running and her rounds she didn't really seek out company very much.

He glanced over at the woman with an annoyed frown. What she said was the truth, obviously. Why else would the island have bothered with things like this?

"That's really not the most encouraging thought."

"Sorry. I'm really not the person to see about encouraging thoughts." Her job was being pragmatic. It seemed to always serve her well enough in the end.

"It should probably get better if you keep trying." After all could it really get worse than lingerie? Yeah, probably.

He frowned down at the box. "One can only hope." It couldn't sink too much lower than the lingerie. Perhaps he would sick Austen's claws on the box until it cooperated.

He glanced over at the woman, and gestured down at the box. "If you're ready to order, go on ahead.
