As much as Priestly started out looking at the Beach City Grill as just a means to an end, the place turned into his family and so these days he feels more at home behind a grill than not. Or if not a grill then, well, as close to it as he can get on the island. The Grill was always more of a lunch place, but Priestly cooks up a mean omelet when ( Read more... )

"hi," Delirium said shyly, smiling at the prettiest lady in the whole kitchen. She looked more like runaway waif and stray then well cared for member of society. Patting down her body, she found what she was looking for in one of her pockets and held out a seashell for Jen to take. "fOR YOU."

Del wandered over to where Priestly was cooking and looked at him up and down before she looked at the food curiously. "i wANT tHAT bUT morE. i WANt maNY MOre. UM Like ENouGH FOR oNE-TwO-THree."

Jen takes the shell the redheaded woman offers with a small smile. "It's beautiful. Thank you," she replies, the situation reminding her even more of the Grill.

She frowns slightly in confusion as the woman places her order. "So...do you want an omelette with everything in it? Or three omelettes?" She hasn't had much experience with it herself, but the woman is clearly pregnant and Jen's heard that expectant mothers can have huge appetites.

"Or I could get out the bigass pan I saw in the cupboard and make one ginormous omelet," offers Priestly, cracking another egg into the bowl he's been using. "I can't promise it'll be pretty, though. Those things are a bitch to fold."

Few things made the island more bearable, but sometimes something did come along. Like now, with the smell of what was for breakfast coming from the kitchen. He didn't know the two who were there, but that didn't stop him from sidling up to the counter with his best face forward. The bloke's hair wasn't enough to throw him off, even if it did earn a curious quirk of James Potter's brow.

"Morning," he greeted the both of them. He was restless, but that wasn't terribly uncommon for him these days. He tried to stay still, leaning with his hip against the counter.

Delirium shifted uncomfortably in her chair. Bunsquid fluttered in her stomach, making little kicking squirmy motions inside her as she moved about. Looking up at the greeting Delirium smiled at him and pointed at him, if there was one thing that she liked about being pregnant it was that people were more inclined to obey her. It was just like old times.

"tALL mAN gO GET ME sOME... juicE." Delirium said smiling at him as she kicked her feet back and forth.

Normally, James liked red heads. A lot. He also liked pregnant women. There was something about them, even when they were miserable and lounging with their bellies sticking up like a breathing hill, he thought they were beautiful.

But, this one made him pause with his mug in hand. He wasn't in the habit of doing what strangers or anyone else demanded of him. "Try again," he said coolly.

For some reason, Lee felt like the cold was stretching on longer this year than it had before. It was frakking cold out, and the trek up the compound was close to unbearable some mornings.

"Morning," He greeted, once he'd finally made his way to the kitchen, rubbing his hands together to try and warm them. He really needed a cup of coffee right about now.

"Good morning. Can I get you some coffee, or tea?" Jen asks, noticing how the guy seems pretty cold, probably from having to walk in from wherever his hut is. She's glad she and Priestly decided to wait until whenever the normal tropical weather comes back. "We've also got omelettes, made to order."

"Coffee's faster, but the omelet's more satisfying," says Priestly. "Speak now and I can whip up both for you. Cream? Sugar? Green peppers?"

Max was a big fan of coffee in the mornings. Especially when it was so cold, and especially after her morning run.

What she wasn't a big fan of, however, was having her head screwed with first thing in the morning.

"...Alec?" She asked, once she blinked and was sure the face behind hte counter was as familiar as she thought it was, "That's a new look."

Unless, of course, it wasn't Alec. She wasn't sure his lazy ass would be out of bed right now anyway. Especially not to make breakfast for the entire compound.

[Priestly pls!]

"Alec's the younger one, right?" says Priestly, reaching across the countertop for the pepper, which always seems to be just out of reach. "And Dean's the older one? Well, whichever, I'm not either of them. You want an omelet?"

He knows which is which, of course, but apparently not everyone else does.

She nodded. "Yeah. Didn't really think so. You look just like him though. You know, except for the hair." While Max didn't doubt the lengths that Alec might go to just to screw around with people, she was pretty sure none of them involved being up early in the cold.

"Sure," She said, "And coffee, if you've got it."

"Coffee? Always," says Priestly, pouring some for her and then some for himself too while he works. "They've got fewer holes in their faces too. A guy who sees his own face around the island notices that kind of thing. So what do you want in your omelet? We've got the works here."

Mrs. Slocombe settled herself onto a stool, arranging her skirt for a long moment before giving up. The wretched hem wouldn't go any higher. She sighed, and sighed again when she realised she'd sat without pouring herself a cup.

"Oh, give us a coffee, love," she called over the counter. "M'knees can't take another go 'round on this stool."

"Coming right up," says Priestly, swinging around to pour up a mug of coffee for her without missing a beat. The rhythm of a well-run kitchen is something that he still falls into pretty easily, especially working with Jen. "Anything else for you today? We've got omelets, any way you like it."

"Oh," said Mrs. Slocombe, perking up without help from the contents of her mug. The forearm that had extended it to her had been finely formed indeed.

"What sort of ingredients do you have, young man?"

"We've got, uh, cheese and peppers and tomatoes and seafood and... well hey, take a look. We cleaned out just about everything the fridge had to offer this morning. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."

Okay, Priestly's breakfast consisted of coffee, but he's going to remedy that just as soon as he takes a break.
