The sessions with Sarah and her baby seemed to be progressing well enough, from what Teyla could tell. Sarah had named her son, an important step in her mind. She knew it was best that there were not crowds during this time, doing her best to leave Chase and Sarah and young Matthieu to their task. But she stayed near, knowing that the sessions ( Read more... )

"Hi," Jill said as she slid into a chair across from Teyla, wondering if the other woman even knew she was there. She'd come into the kitchen several minutes ago and had prepared herself a cup of coffee before coming over to the table, finding Teyla almost completely lost in thought.

Tipping her head a little, she offered a smile, then sipped her coffee. "Is everything okay?" she asked curiously.

Her distraction had been complete enough that, while she was focused on either Sarah or Chase, all others her eyes slid over. "Jill," she looked up with some surprise, blinking twice before slowly smiling at the other woman, "it is, yes. Just ordinary troubles and thoughts. I seem to have been lost in them."

"Happens to the best of us," Jill answered with a smile, leaning her elbows on the table. She knew that a lot of what Rodney and Carson were working on had to do with Teyla's people and she could understand her being distracted. "Anything in particular? I know a lot of Michael's work is... unsettling." To say the least.

"What they have learned of it, yes," she had only gleaned hints of things from the two men. Their behavior the past few days and what Rodney had told her himself, it did seem they were on the verge of some sort of breakthrough. "I believe not knowing may in fact become worse than knowing, for all that I try to not think on it too much. It is many things, but when is it not?"

By the time Sarah slipped out of the clinic, she was twitchy and irritable, arms folded across her chest, the over still gently slopping swell of her belly. She went straight for the coffee maker, frowning to herself as she started a new pot.

She spared Teyla a quick glance, the faint twitch of her lips her only greeting.

She had been looking up each time the door opened, wondering if it would be Chase or Sarah coming through. Giving the woman time to start her pot of coffee, she moved aside on the bench, leaving space should Sarah want to join her. "I have never developed a taste for coffee," she mentioned idly, refilling her cup from the pot of tea before her.

"You are not missing much," she said, reaching for a mug and giving a disinterested look to the fruit bowl, "The coffee here tastes like piss."

"You might wish to try the tea," she offered mildly, "it can be strong, but I enjoy it."

Benny had just finished heating up some soup and was headed over to an empty spot at a table when it began to register just how hot her hot soup actually was. Rushing to find the nearest flat surface before her hands started blistering, she accidently bumped into a woman who appeared to be deep in contemplation over a pot of tea, and very nearly spilled the whole mess all over her. "Bugger, bugger, bugger," she said when she finally managed to put down the scorching bowl of soup and shook out her stinging hands. "That was bloody burning!"

The bump had been what jarred Teyla out of her thoughts, jumping away and nearly spilling her own tea in the process. Her concern was for the other woman, not herself; peering over at her hands. "You should cool those in water, in case you were burned."

"Mmmm," Benny replied, blowing on them and feeling rather stupid about the whole thing. "I"ll be alright. You think I would have learned by now that bowls get hot when you pour hot liquids into them, but no." She dropped herself into the seat across from the woman and gave a small smile. "I'm terribly sorry I almost involved you in my mini-disaster there. Your tea didn't spill, I hope?"

"If you are sure," she stayed upright, not sitting until she was positive the other woman was in fact alright. "It did not. Even if it had, I can assure you it is quite cool by now. I have not been giving it the attention that it deserves."

After her conversation with Cameron, she had spoken to Daniel and then left again, putting New Atlantis behind her. In a few days, she would send Timothy for her books and papers, and the dresses most of which she would return to the clothing box. Cameron required time and space and, she, required of herself that he be given it ( ... )

"Morgan," Teyla looked up at the woman, shaking herself from her reverie. It was unusual for her to be so lost in thoughts, her eyes trained on the door but looking only for Sarah or Chase. All others that walked through went unnoticed, friends and strangers alike.

"It is good to see you as well," she relaxed, her shoulders curving gently as she pulled the cup of tea - now cold - toward her. "I have not seen you in the mornings."

"After the island's masters chose to gift me with the Sangraal--" She lifted the pendant that hung about her neck at all times now, whether it matched her clothing or not. "And we spoke about Cameron, I felt it best that I take time in seclusion."

Dipping her chin apologetically and letting the pendant fall to her breasts, Morgan brushed her fingertips against Teyla's wrist. "I hope I did not worry you. I apologize if I did." Though she did wish to speak to her friend about what had transpired, it would wait as speaking of it would not change it. On the other hand Teyla's condition, perhaps, might. "Are you well? You seem unusually distracted this morning."

"Hopefully it gave you the peace that you were looking for," more than Teyla, Morgan seemed to need that centre. When she was without it, she seemed distracted and unsure. "I had not thought to worry yet. Another day or so, and perhaps that would have changed."

"Well enough," she admitted, pushing away the cup of tea that had grown cold. "There are many things that seem to be converging, and I find myself thinking on all of them."
