At first, being something like half her usual height had seriously freaked Serena out. She was tiny and her clothes, when she'd woken up, hadn't fit, and everything was so much bigger and further away than usual. After a while, though, she'd calmed down. Somewhere along the way, she'd even begun to enjoy herself ( Read more... )

He'd been right. The trampoline was a "kid"-magnet, and island trick or know, he's glad he talked Tim into hanging around here. There's a pretty princess bouncing sky-high on the tramp, and while her balance seems good, he's not taking any chances.

"Easy, princess," he says, liberally interpreting 'priest' as he flips up onto the trampoline. There are priests in South America who take part in all the village activities, right? "I'm just going to hang out here in case you need someone to grab you, okay?"

Reflexively, Dick reaches to grab her before she comes down. Safety habit with any kid, but he's even gladder when she says who it is. "Whoops." He smiles a little sheepishly to draw any sting of being snatched from play. "Hope you don't mind. Can't let my girl fall. And I did promise you private lessons."

He glances down at his vestments, then shakes his head, laughing. "The clothing box and Tim have the same sense of humor."

Eric wandered up and leaned against the edge of the trampoline, watching Serena with a small smile. "You look like you're enjoying this way too much," he commented with dry amusement.

"Of course," Eric agreed, chuckling. The attitude didn't surprise him one bit. He wasn't so sure he'd have the same sunny outlook in her shoes, but then--it was Serena.

He toed his shoes off and climbed onto the trampoline, knowing that Serena would talk him into joining her sooner or later, so he may as well just give in now.

Serena beamed, pleased Eric hadn't even had to be asked. It was still kind of weird, being shorter and smaller than her baby brother, but it didn't bother her all that much. He'd always really been the older of them at heart. "Do you think it'll last very long?" she asked, not ceasing in her play.

Enjolras had found the day nothing but frustration after frustration. He had awoken to find himself trapped in an unfamiliar body once again, and this time he could barely care for himself. He was dressed in the same clothing as most of the island's residents usually wore: a white tank top and jeans.

He couldn't reach most of the books on the bookshelf, he had had to climb onto a chair to perform the simple task of getting a banana from the kitchen, and he was afraid he was going to run into someone he knew.

Clutching one of the few books he had been able to reach, some children's book called Le Petit Prince, he stalked outside to find somewhere quiet to read. As he walked past the trampoline without looking around, little legs moving him as quickly as possible, he stumbled over a rock. The book went flying from his hand and landed a few feet away as gravel bit into his palms, tore at his knees through the trousers. Tears welled up in his eyes immediately as he knelt, head down. Oh how he hated this place, some days.

Serena might have been lost in her enjoyment of the trampoline, but not enough so to let another child in distress go unnoticed. As soon as the boy took his spill, she slowed herself to a halt, clambering off the side of the trampoline and dropping incautiously to her feet. "Are you okay?" she called out, her own eyes gone wide with worry. Soon she dropped into a crouch beside him, tipping her head to the side to see the face more clearly. The book could be tended to soon, but the boy came first. "We should get you a bandaid."

Enjolras had no idea what a bandaid was, but his humiliation at being witnessed in this state was far more acute than the sting in his hands and knees. "I am all right, I don't need anything," he insisted, the words coming out in a lisping version of his usual accented English. It was disturbing.

"Are you sure?" Serena asked. "That was a pretty big fall." Despite the faint accent, the words seemed beyond the usual capabilities of the child's age. Serena may not have been the most intellectual of her group, but she was bright, and she suspected this poor boy was another like her, trapped in a too small body for the moment. "You dropped your book." Moving away, she reached to pick it up, looking at the title with a smile before she handed it over. "I like that one."

Kathryn had checked the date on the calendar inside the Compound immediately after her arrival, it was indeed 2008, but she hadn't given any thought to what the date might mean until she had left her room this morning and found herself surrounded by all sorts of Halloween decorations. She didn't really have a mind for them right now, though, as she was still trying to find out more about this place, and more importantly, how to get back to Voyager ( ... )

"Hello." Open and completely unafraid of strangers. Yet another thing that reminded Kathryn of another little girl, though it seemed as if an eternity had passed since then.

"I'd love to.", she replied, "But I doubt my doctors would be especially happy if I did." After all, she had just managed to leave the clinic, hurting her injured shoulder again and having to go back wasn't an especially appealing prospect. Although she had no trouble believing the girl's statement that it was indeed "pretty fun". "Besides, we adults are supposed to act all serious and reasonable all the time, you know."

"That's a pretty costume, by the way. Though I think you've lost something." She held up the little tiara.

There was a little girl on the trampoline. There was a little girl on the trampoline who looked kind of like Coraline. Like she had done when she was much younger or like she was one of her cousins. Coraline peered at the girl wondering if she was the Other Coraline.

"Can I join in?" Coraline asked curiously.

[OOC: Lol is that Dakota's little sister? XD ]
