As the days went by and the rain still did not stop, Serena wouldn't let the weather prevent her from going outdoors. Coming back in soaking wet despite raincoat and umbrella seemed to teach her nothing. Still she went out every day

"I would like to get by," Enjolras informed whoever was rummaging in the open closet as he stood behind the door that was blocking a good part of the corridor.
With a badminton birdie in one hand and a bouncy ball in the other, Serena poked her head around the door. "Ooh, sorry," she said. Nudging a horse shoe back into the closet with her toe, she stepped out of the way and closed the door. "Désolée."
"Ah, bien, merci, bien," Serena said merrily. "Il y avait trop de pluie, je crois, mais... et toi?" If she couldn't find a game to play, a person to talk to was just as good to keep her entertained.
"Is there a squash court here that I don't know about?" Eric asked cheerfully as he came up behind his sister. "Because I don't think this is outdoor sport weather."
"Yes, I set it up on the third floor," Serena quipped, grinning. "I just thought maybe I could find something in here, but so far, I have ten bouncy balls and a hula hoop."
"Huh. Well, you could...nope, I've got nothing." He chuckled quietly and shook his head. "You've got to be going nuts, huh?" After all, he knew Serena better than pretty much anyone.
"Just a little bit," Serena admitted with a laugh. "There's only so much I can do in here, and I'm probably gonna drive Beat and Blair crazy, taking up all their time. What about you? Found anything good to keep you busy?"
By the time Jo came in, wet and muddy, her hair was wet enough to wring it out. She dripped as she walked, but she was used to that and anyway, the plants still needed talking to whatever the weather. It seemed like it was working too, because they were growing fast. Or possibly it was just the rain, it was hard to tell.
A tennis ball rolled slowly towards her and she picked it up, heading closer to where Serena was to see what she was doing. "Are you looking for something?" She wondered if someone had found a big gym recently, which would be quite handy in this weather.
"Anything," Serena said with a laugh, looking back over her shoulder at Jo. "I'm being bored to death by the rain." As she spoke, she turned to face Jo more squarely, cheerful despite her words. "But you look like you braved the elements anyway."
"You can't just stay inside when the weather's bad for this long. It get boring." She laughed at echoing Serena's boredom.
She peered into the cupboard and frowned. "I don't even know what some of this is." Except that there, hiding, was a cricket bat, which she pulled out. "If we could find a soft ball and a big enough space we could play French Cricket." It probably wouldn't be a good idea to break things with a proper ball.
"Well, there has to be one around here," Serena said, kneeling down to dig through the clutter of the closet. "I mean, there are marbles and these -" She held up a couple of the bouncy balls. "- and, and I don't know what this is. Maybe it'd work." She held up the closet's lone quaffle with a shrug.
Nita, though, was up to her proverbial eyeballs. She had books. She had canisters. All in her arms, all from looking at them and saving them from the bookshelf.
Why?
Her sister's birthday was in less then two weeks, and she had nothing. Nothing at all. She barely noticed Serena as she squeezed past the open door, then paused, and stopped.
And slowly backed up the three steps it took for her to be even with her. "... Serena?" She bit her lip, her eyes flicking to the books in her arms. "You're good with... ideas. Right? I mean-" She shook her head slightly. Good. Babbling. "Are you busy?"
Serena laughed, brow furrowing in bemusement. "Yeah," she said. "I mean, no. I mean, I'm good with idea, some ideas, and I'm not busy. In fact, I'm so not busy that I'd really appreciate a distraction. What are all of those?" As she spoke, her hands slid to her hips, one impeded by the bouncy ball she was clutching, the other trailing away from a hula hoop.
"Books. My sister- her birthday's on the 20th, and I don't have any clue what to get her." Nita blinked, looking at the hula hoop with raised eyebrows. "Do they have a chinese jumpro- Nevermind. Anyway, I'm just trying to figure out what to do. Dair's always really hard to buy for, and that's when you've got stores."
"Oh god, I know," Serena said, eyes wide with sympathy as she nodded. "Chuck's birthday was just the other week, and it's hard enough knowing what to get him at home without being unable to run to Bendel's or something." What, after all, did you get the guy who had everything? "I'm sure we can think of something."
Intrigued, Tim watches Serena at the closet for awhile before pushing himself up and heading over, arms crossing loosely over his chest as he leans against the wall by the open door, grinning at her.
"Ain't bored enough to start cleanin' or nothin' are you?" he asks and then turns his head enough to peer into the cluttered closet.
Serena laughed as she looked up at him, shaking her head at once. "God, no," she said brightly. "I'm pretty sure I've never been that bored in my life." The idea was so foreign as to be positively ludicrous.
Serena stood, arms folding, and shrugged. "Looking for something to do," she said. "Or for stuff I can use to make up something to do. The rain's driving me crazy." She didn't seem to mind that much, though, smiling still. "So, what, you're so bored yourself you're watching me now?"
