After the training, he mulled about the area once he retrieved his sword. He wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand, and eyed the water for a moment. Perhaps he would take a dip soon, to cool himself off.

Plus, the woman in charge was hot. He almost envied the person who got her boot on his back.
He sat for a bit, sweating and getting his body back to normal. Stretch, lean, sweat. This was more fun than hitting dino territory armed to the teeth.

"You looked to be enjoying yourself," he observed wryly, his breath having returned to him.

"Little bit harder than it was at seventeen, but still just as much fun. How about you, Arthur?"

His shoulders lifted in a scant shrug. "Different can be good. I've learned that."

He stretched out, feeling good in a way he hadn't in a while. Bartowski was too easy an assignment, and he'd been getting soft. But now he felt like part of a unit again, and it was great. He hoped his fellow recruits were worthy of this new branch of defense, even if they were just defending a crazy island.

It was amazing how fit fighting undead kept you, and now without them, she was a wreck.
It was a nasty thought.
After all was said and done, she fell back to the fringe of the little group and set to stretching her sore muscles and regaining her breath. Bent over with her hands braced on her knees, she grinned at the horizon.
Looked like things weren't going to be all that boring any more.

After observing the Task Force training exercise for a while, he doubted he could ever be one. At least, not without damaging a few 'commanding officers' along the way.
But people had signed up out of their own free will, and it was their problem if they chose to simply take the abuse. Insulting the IPD as part of a morale building routine, however, was taking it too far.
"Major Shaw," he greeted neutrally, approaching the woman and giving her a thorough visual scan before proceeding. "Were you insinuating that the IPD can't run?" There might have been a flicker of a smile accompanying the question, but it was well concealed.

He kept a still position, a straight posture - not a military stance, but the kind he often employed while engaging in IPD business.
"It's not as if you have an unlimited supply of it."
