There were no warm smells coming from the kitchen, no food stains in odd places, there were no crazy items on the table and there was a distint lack of Insanity in the kitchen. In short there was no Del, she wasn't there but she wasn't really anywhere right now. Except when she remembered and looked around the room she was in and knew what she had done. Or rather, what she had tried to do.
She looked terrible; her skin pale and washed out, her hair tied in knots and her eyes were haunted by a startling madness that she hadn't felt in over a year. She felt like herself and yet she still felt sad and so alone. Delirium laughed to herself, giggling uncontrollably as she lay in the Clinic. Alone and bored.
Delirium turned as much as she could in the bed and stared at the ceiling. There were monsters crawling on there, melting the walls and wanting to eat her. She didn't dare tell them that though, just in case they tried to give her more medicine. She had been here for so many days, each one ran into another and they talked to her but she didn't really listen. They were so boring, boring, boring, BORING. Everytime she asked them to send her home they just looked at her and firmly told her No.
"i HATe that Word. No, nO, no! whO do thEY Think thEY ARe? who AM i? dEL, i'M DeL. Jack TOLD me and i hURT him. pOOR jACK, pOOR me." Delirium muttered to herself, wondering if they would know if she pulled out the things in her arms. They always knew, they always watched her. "eYes evERywhere and NowhERe and i'M StiLL ALone."
Delirium watched the monsters crawl across the ceiling, barely realising that there was anyone else in the room with her.
[[No Thursday Breakfast post from Delirium today but do go and visit her in the Clinic. ST/LT is peachy keen with me.]]
