Jon had once picked up a book from the shelf whose opening line had been "It was almost December, and Jonas was beginning to be frightened." That was rather how he felt right now, if the truth must be told; it was two days til his wedding, and he was beginning to be frightened. It was a nerve-wracking thing, though he could not quite put his finger on why. Nothing obvious would change after the ceremony, except that he would be living with Susan and Lucy and not with his family. And it certainly was not that he was afraid of committing himself to her; if anything he felt the declaration was overdue.

He supposed he was worried something would go wrong-- that something would happen between now and Saturday (or worse, during the ceremony) to prevent its being completed. He could not shake the nagging anxiety in the pit of his stomach, and having already run several miles that morning made a jog to work out his nervousness a bad idea; the last thing he wanted was to strain something and have to attend his own wedding with a cane. So instead he'd gathered an armload of big sticks and taken Ghost down to the ocean to play fetch. He was able to relax then, with the sun lowering over the water and only the waves and his wolf to occupy his thoughts.

[excellent for anyone to come bother him, he's just being a woobie.]
