Pam had heard about the playground, of course, but she hadn't gotten to go down there yet. She thought that maybe she should take a peek at it, what with the baby coming soon and all. Maybe she'd even sit on a swing for a little while. They were her favorite.
She hadn't counted on finding a little boy crying on the merry-go-round. She frowned deeply as she neared him. Something about him struck her as very familiar, but she couldn't place it. It might've been the hair..
"Hey," she said gently, sitting down next to him. He didn't look hurt or anything, but.. "Are you okay?"
Pam's eyes widened. Oh. Oh. Now that he'd spoken, she just.. She knew. He knew who she was and just.. the tone of voice, even though it was much higher than usual, was exactly the same.
"Michael, what's wrong? Did something happen? I mean.. besides... this." She gestured towards him.
Jim had wandered into the playground after realizing how bored he was. He figured most people he knew might be hanging out around the area - they were all younger than him, after all. What he found instead was some little boy crying.
It took him a second to realize who it was. There was no denying the kid he was standing in front of was the sad little kid he had seen in that video Michael had shown a little while before he had come to the island. He was looking as sad as he was in that show, and Jim felt a whole lot of pity immediately. As much of an idiot as Michael was, he was still a good guy. Without hesitation he walked over, hands in his pockets.
"Hey," he said, trying not to sound too concerned. It'd probably embarrass him.
Jane was quite tired, but still, she had an apple pie to make and she would do so. What she did not expect was to find a crying young man upon the merry-go-round. She wandered closer, the basket of apples at her side. "Young sir?" she gently asked, approaching. "Oh! Whatever is the matter?"
Jane was quite worried now and set her apples upon the ground, lifting the apron she wore to dry whatever tears appeared as she stroked a hand over his hair. "Oh, darling," she said sympathetically, with a note of worry within her tone. "Would this perchance be because you are not normally a child?"

"Having a bad day?" he guessed, trying not to smile. It'd be mean to smile, even though him belting out songs was kind of amusing.

Seeing another person beat her to it stopped her, though.
She sniffled. "What's wrong with you?"
