"Isn't this enough?!" Michael cried, mortally wounded. "Isn't it enough, Pam, that this stupid stupid STUPID island has stripped me of my dignity, my adulthood, and my public hair?!"
Pam blinked owlishly and almost jumped away from him when he yelled. "I- Okay. Michael, just.. calm down," she replied, hoping that she sounded a little soothing. "It's.. I promise this won't last long. A weekend, maybe. It'll be over before you know it."
"I am trying to be calm!" Michael yelled. He was trying. He just wasn't succeeding very well. And he was okay with that because it had taken Albert Einstein something like one thousand tries before he got the light bulb right and shot an apple off some loser's head.
Sucking in a large breath, Michael's face went a little red. Then he exhaled quickly, squinting over at Pam. "Can you really promise that, Pam? Because you shouldn't make promises you can't keep. It's not really nice and you're big so it doesn't matter to you. But it matters to me."

"Yes. I can really promise that," she replied, hoping that this really was only a weekend-long.. thing.
