Rockhard Mountains - Training {Varying Aphro}

For all the things the hotel could and did meddle with, the effect it had on the concept of time was one of the more frustrating. While it was easy enough for go through each day and register time passing, the amount that did never seemed to mean much. As someone who always tried to fill her days with as many useful and worthwhile things as ( Read more... )

Wandering up a nearby path was a familiar green-clad man with bushy hair. Exploring suited him more than sitting idle, though it did bring a few awkward encounters...

For now, though, this looked to be not so awkward - it was the girl from before, and if his cleric training had gotten anything through his head, she seemed ...tired? Hmm.

He waves a bit, trying to get her attention before he got too close to startle her. "Miss Amelia!"

[Sorry about flaking on the previous CR. Might we say they got along well without getting in each other's robes? Aldray would've been too much of a gentleman to do so so soon anyway, aphro be damned. xD;]

Amelia managed to break another boulder as she heard the shout. Thankfully the wide open space meant sound carried itself quite far. Blinking in surprise, she peered down the path and spotted the familiar figure.

"Oh, Mr Aldray!" she smiled and waved back, ignoring the stinging of her hands, before moving towards the path to meet him. "How are you?"

[ooc: No worries, it's okay. We can assume they bonded over justice, Amelia already considers him awesome for that. ^-^]

The shattering boulder was a bit confounding for the guy - he didn't expect spellcasters to hit hard enough to do that... Guess it goes to show that you can't judge someone by appearances! Also, note to self - don't tick her off.

"I'm doing well, how about yourself?" He glanced around, noting the piles of broken rock. "Looks like you've been keeping busy..."

[Huzzah!]

Needless to say Amelia was no ordinary magic user. She had not only been training like this with her father since she was very young, but also knew how to channel her energy into her fists to add extra damage to her hits. She knew she wasn't as strong as some of her other friends, but she could hold her own if need be. Thankfully she didn't angry often enough to ever hurt people if frustrated.

Following his gaze, she rubbed the back of her head head sheepishly, laughing and blushing a bit in embarrassment. She hadn't realized how much damage she had done. "Ah, yes I guess you could say that. I just wanted to clear my head a bit."

A knowing chuckle leaves the cleric, and he pats her shoulder. "Ahh, nothing wrong with that. Just don't overdo it." Of course, he's one to talk with the way he tends to fight. One of those 'do as I say and not as I do' clerics.

"If all that was big rocks before, I suspect your head should be clear as pure water, milady," he adds, chuckling again.

She smiled up at him, though wearily kept her hands behind her back. She didn't want to worry him after all, though obviously appreciated his concern and support. It was probably best she finished off for the day at any rate.

"I guess so. I just lost track of time it seems." she replied. Any refreshing escape from the daily antics of the hotel were welcome while they lasted though.

Aldray nods, resting a hand on the hilt of the sword at his hip. He'd swapped out the talking one for his backup after the loudmouthed thing got him into some awkward situations.

"How 'bout you take the rest of the evening off then? Can't fight for justice if you're exhausted, after all!"

The talking sword had been a little odd for Amelia as well. Granted she had seen stranger things, but it had been a bit jarring to have the weapon butting into their conversation last time.

At his request, she nodded, glancing down the path. "Very true Mr Aldray! Looks like it'll be a long walk back down mind you."

Aldray nods, then laughs a bit. "Well, there's that, or," he points to the cabin nearby. "If no one is using that place, it would make a decent place to rest for the night." He looks over at her, checking for her reaction. "Beats camping out on the ground if we can't make it all the way back."

Turning to where he indicated, she spotted the cabin. She tilted her head as she looked back at him, nodding in agreement. "Sounds like a good idea, let's go." she replied, moving to scramble carefully down the sloped path, but still waiting for Aldray to follow. It wouldn't take them long to get down there, she just hoped they'd be comfortable enough for the night, and that the cabin had any necessities they required.

Aldray followed - he wasn't slow, by any measure, but he wasn't fast. Just methodical.

Once they reach the door, he does move a bit quicker to get the door for Amelia.

She beamed at him as he opened the door, walking through and into the cabin. It wasn't that big, but pretty comfortable, it would do just fine for the night.

"Looks like there's enough wood anyway." she mused on checking the stack next to the fireplace. "Guess we should see about any food."

Aldray nods at the wood, then heads for what is apparently the kitchen. "If we're lacking, I've got fishing gear on-hand, and trail rations." Granted, he's terrible at fishing, and the trail rations are functional, but lacking in taste.

"Okay, let me know what you find Mr Aldray. I'm going to check the other rooms." she called, before disappearing down the short narrow hallway toards the back end of the cabin. She passed a bathroom and closet, checking each in turn, before opening the last door, which she assumed was a bedroom.

She was right, it was a bedroom, with only one large double bed in it. Considering where they were, it was no surprise, but Amelia found herself sighing heavily, feeling her face heat up a little. Well, it would be best to get the awkwardness out of the way, thus she headed back to the kitchen, preparing to break the news to her male friend.

Here, we have Aldray attempting to find his way into a can of vegetables with a dagger, and...well, not having the best of luck.

Or any luck, for that matter. Sadly, he has not been caught up on modern conveniences in his time here.

"Ah, Miss Amelia! I believe I found food, but it appears to be trapped in the most confounding containers..."

The princess merely stared in bewilderment. She hadn't come across canned foods either yet, and was just as baffled as Aldray. She peered at the tin he was holding, forgetting for the moment what she was planning to say to him. Instead, she stared intensly, inspecting the can in his hand.

"Isn't there a lid that can be removed Mr Aldray?" she asked. It seemed like a similar size to jar after all. Why would they put the food inside containers and not have a lid so you could get what was inside?
