If there is even a world out there. Who is to say we might find ourselves on an empty expanse of ocean, traveling further and further out but never reaching another island let alone civilization?
That would logically make little sense. The architecture has to have come from somewhere, and the supplies. I doubt if this was an ocean filled world that we would have received those. [Hmmm. It's a pity she's not that familiar with much in the way of geography ect.]
On the other hand, what brought us here could have brought them, too.
Not necessarily. Picture a door that only you have the key for. You can travel between this room and others freely; all you have to do is unlock it. But what happens if you keep it open?
Whatever our kidnapper has done to gain access to our separate dimensions may have the extra effect of sucking more than just people in - items, boats, etc. That may account for where they came from if there is no civilization off of the island.
Correct. And that would also place the location of our mysterious host not too far off, as I imagine he and the "door" wouldn't be too far away from one another.
It might. Unless we're going by the assumption that they found their way here from the mainland.
More so than actually dealing with them. If they have to hide and depend on these stupid creatures to do away with us, they must not be nearly as powerful as you think.
I would assume that it would be rather alien to what I know.

It might also be the source of the monsters.

Or they might merely be toying with us.
