So, it may seem silly, but I've slapped together some Jillian Michaels icons to keep me motivated. I just can't get over this woman. Her body is incredible and her workouts have, without a doubt, helped me lose much more weight than just doing my own exercise routine. Good luck in the race! Kick some ass! haha. No, really I think that is such a cool idea. I wish I could do something like that with my family.

Thanks! The whole race idea stemmed from a bunch of trash-talking actually, so I think it's funny that we're actually doing it, heh.

Actually, no, I would have to strongly advise against any of her DVDs if you're new to working out. All of her workouts start at a more intermediate level and are pretty fast-paced.

I would recommend some of the Biggest Loser workout DVDs (especially the first one) and once you're comfortable with those, ease your way into Jillian's stuff. The Biggest Loser DVD provides enough of a challenge so you'll break a sweat, but starts out at a level designed for beginners so you can ease into it. There are different levels too, so you can work your way up to the more advanced boot-camp style workouts.
