hah. can you believe I've never played risk before? I guess I'm not nearly as much of a "nerd" as I thought I was... Though I did play a lot f Magic: The Gathering. That's probably far worse.
I think it's possible to live a full and fruitful geek life without ever playing a game of Risk. But I'm sure someone will try to get you to play it at some point. I've played Magic a few times, and I usually thought it was pretty fun even though I'm not good at deck building. At least it had epic creatures and stuff. That's more interesting than plastic cannons.
awwwwwwwwwwww, Tracy!! But...but...but Risk is amazing and great! And yes, you get mad at people in game, but its all in good fun!
Foolproof ways to lose? I don't think so. To be completely honest, you almost won last night! In fact, you were exactly 4 dice rolls from winning...had you taken out sean, it would have forced me to choose who to move against - you or Brice. I turned in for 50 people and it would all have moved against Siam (I'll settle for 2nd place after you XD).
Moral of the story: if the only discernable reason that you aren't taking someone out is because they are flashing puppy eyes, begging, and playing penitential music...it's probably in your favor to take them out. No matter what I say. :P
I see no evidence that Risk is amazing and great! Maybe you should also make a 20-point list. Then I'll take the idea into further consideration.
Yeah, I was ABOUT to win. But in the end I always have the same epiphany: If the win will only make me miserable, I refuse to win. I just do my best to honor all the agreements I made before I go.
