'Talking' was possibly Sirius' least favorite seven letter word. Well, other than... 'shallot' or something. Those were nasty. Or 'puppies'. He was powerless before puppies. But. He was procrastinating

Remus had been waiting in the front room, chewing nervously on his lip. His mum always berated him for that habit, saying it left his lips all chapped and torn up. Which it did. But. Well, that didn't matter too much, it was. Remus was nervous and worried and his lips just were not his top priority right now. Of course he believed Sirius that this wasn't his fault, that Remus hadn't done anything, but. He had done something, even if that was only not speaking up earlier. If it was not making Sirius talk to him and unload and feel better weeks ago. He had been nervous and unsure and worried and this is where that brought them. So, now

Sirius' mouth automatically tugged into a smile once the door opened, hands shoved into his back pockets once Remus came into play. Fuck, he hadn't thought this through. He'd wanted to show up and throw about some bullshit about how okay he was, something stupid that could possibly pass as what was bothering him. Quick and easy and all that jazz. But. It was Remus. And he did rather dislike lying to his friends. He was sodding brilliant at it. But he didn't like it.
"Er, hullo," he laughed a little, removed a hand from his pocket to skritch at his hair as he walked in, did a bit of a twirl as if he'd never been in the Lupin house and he was just getting the grand tour. "How've you been? Nasty weather we're having, et cetera."
Remus winced, watching Sirius. He didn't really think he could just play this off as nothing, did he? Remus went back to biting his lip for a moment as Sirius looked around and lapsed into boring chitchat.
But once the other boy was facing him again, Remus closed the door and, stepping closer to Sirius, pulled him into a hug. It was a very girly thing to do, but. Well, he wanted to hug Sirius, even if it wasn't for the whole talking thing; he hadn't seen the other boy in too long (too long meaning just about a day recently) and Sirius was his boyfriend, so he was allowed to hug him, and. Yes.
Remus gave good hugs. It was just kind of a truth of the matter that Sirius had always noticed - he hugged with his whole body and they were very there and comforting. Sirius hugged him back at once, clasping hands against him and taking in a deep breath.
This was stupid, he was already shaking a little just from a dumb hug. He felt like he was going to burst into tears. The fuck was wrong with him? Keep it together, Black, don't be such a pussy. He nudged his head against Remus' shoulder, eyes shut for a few long seconds. "Thanks. Moons," he replied, a bit stilted, still hanging onto him.
Remus chewed on his lip. "I. Alright." He just wanted to help. Maybe it would have been better to let Sirius stew, to not pull this out of the other boy. It wasn't helping, it was just-- painful for both of them, awful to talk about, making Remus realize just how disconnected he was from Sirius. He felt like swearing.
And Sirius just-- laughed, then, spontaneously. He had a hand clapped over his face, his other on his hip, his head ducked, and. He just didn't know what to say, just giggled a little hysterically for a few seconds and rubbed at his forehead. "Fuck me," he mumbled again, felt incredibly stupid as he scrubbed his eyes again with his sleeve. "Sorry, I'm just-- I make a mess of everything."
Remus blinked, jerking back for a moment in surprise. It at first almost sounded like Sirius was yelling in pain, but-- then he wasn't sure if it was better or worse that he was laughing. "I-- uh, no, it. It's fine, Pads," he said, a little haltingly.
"No, it's. Sorry," Sirius was mumbling again, going a little quieter that time. The laughing had subsided, his hand slid down to cup his chin, fingers tapping, debating, against his lips. "I'm just. Very. Sorry."
It wasn't even all he was hanging onto, emotionally, just the biggest thing he had been, and now that it was out in the open, it was-- He didn't feel better, or refreshed, no. He just felt drained, a bit bothered by this whole situation. And rather guilty for unloading this onto Remus - he just looked so strange with this right now, Sirius didn't know what to think. He was probably-- scaring him off, right here. He hadn't meant to, he just. He looked back up at Remus, carefully, stuck in place.
