ok I have to post this now before I keep fucking with it and adding to it and I ruin the whole thing. *squints at the changes I've made* I can't keep my fingers out of the dough unless I stick it up here for the world to look at, so I'm taking away the temptation

Second: You expressed a desire for Jareth Icons. Umm, I, therefore, made some. Cuz, well, just cuz I wanted to. So I'm posting this comment with one.

Also? LOVE this story. These quick snippets are perfect and heart wrenching. Poor newly souled, crazy Angel. And Spike. *sigh*
Love these.

"Spike licked his lips. “In me, mostly.” yay! dirty, rough, guilty sex. guh. LOVELOVELOVE the eating for two/sin eater metaphor. So brilliant. Poor Angel.
"Angel’s limbs were heavy and solid, thrown over his body in a way that used to be possessive. Now…he just didn’t know. " sigh.
"Spike had spoken to every mage and demon in this new city to try and rid him of this disease" nice! The soul is absolutely a disease in Spike's conception.
oh! i'm crawling out of my skin with the angst! and i'm so in love with Spike for doing what has to be done! even though he's killing children, he makes me want to give him a hug. well done! Mel, I really can't even express how much I love this story. maybe i'll go think about it, and then i can explain it better. lol

dirty, rough, guilty sex might be the entire basis of my otp. just kidding, I love them for their fistfights, too. *snerk*
yeah, this part kind of cracks open the whole sin eater metaphor doesn't it? in fact, it didn't even occur to me until this scene. LOL. wish I could say I planned it out in a clever fashion, but...nope.
to Spike, the soul is totally a disease. I keep wondering what Spike would feel when Angel does lose it years later in Sunnydale. because we know canonically that Spike can adjust to devoting himself to good for someone he loves, so...I feel like by that point, it would actually upset him. or something. not sure.
even though he's killing children, he makes me want to give him a hug.my job here is done. lmao. no, seriously. that's totally something I was shooting for. I think it's so funny how Spike sees this as a great solution...not because it's moral, because he doesn't give a toss about that, but because it gets the job done, like you said ( ... )

I think he's definitely a loyal little guy, in his own way. especially if someone needs him. *pets him*

I love that. That's what we knew he was doing.
The non con didn't squick me. Vampires are like horses. Rough mating.
This really fits in a lovely way with canon, Spike caring for Angel. I really have enjoyed this series and look forward to whatever happens next.

I love that line. It's just so poignant. Very important. I love all of this. I love that it's longer too. Very very nicely written. *smiles*
