And that - is beyond belief. Or at least, I wish it was. me too
and it's kind of a sad state of affairs that when I was a serious look at events, I turn to a standup comedian (much as I love him and think he's BRILLIANT.) whenever I watch regular news channels here, it's glaringly obvious they've all crawled up the administration's ass.
It's a piece with the horrifying swing toward conservatism and social fasicm in the US in recent years, marked especially to my mind by challenges to Roe v. Wade.
i have no jon stewart icon, so i give you his boyfriend. ;)
what i loved was this: Four general groups of conditions may be encountered in homosexually active men... trauma: foreign bodies, ... inhaled nitrite burns, and sexual assault of the male patient bwahahaha! mel, tell me which part of the male body exudes nitrite? I wanna stay away from it....
also, i love the stats on fisting. *snerk* which during the 1970s was practiced by approximately 5% of the male homosexual population (Geist, 1988). It should be noted that this activity is occasionally practiced by heterosexual and lesbian couples. AND YET: Few anorectal problems and no evidence of anal-sphincter dysfunction are found in heterosexual women who have anal-receptive intercourse.
hmmm. well, there's your proof. 5% of all homo boys obviously have tighter sphincters than lesbians.
*hangs head* did we really swear him in and all? dang. i thought excoriating the supreme court was the only fucktarded thing left to do on Bush's agenda.
the whole thing was just... and yeah, the stats on fisting are particularly...illuminating. apparently women have foolproof asses. who knew?
he's still awaiting congressional approval, as far as I know. but I'm not sure what the criterion are for rejecting an appointee. I have a feeling he has to have done something illegal in the past, or something like that. it's doubtful to me that they can block him on political basis alone, right?

Honestly, i think it's going to depend on partisanship. The House is democratic right now, so maybe he'll get vetoed?
