Prior societies were restricted to inductive logic which could be practical but not theoretical because a theory must be deduced, not induced. It has occurred to me that some of my assertions are open to question, especially as regards Thales and the Egyptian calendar. In discussing this project with a friend The question of Bush's integrity came up. I claimed that because his philosophical base is something he can't prove, (at base he is a mystic) he has no integrity. Pythagoras is best remembered for his theorem which exposed the infinite aspect of irrational numbers. Infinite in this context is used to describe a sequence without an obvious end.
