Starting T . . Sort Of

So, on the advice of my therapist, I talked to my doctor about getting on a low dose of testosterone in order to restore some sexual functioning until I get a chance to see the endocrinologist. He prescribed me our best guess at the dosage typical for female sexual dysfunction (it's an off-label use), based on a note in my file from my ( Read more... )

I'm glad that the treatment is helping you feel better & is taking pressure off of you. I imagine that it would be easier to work on stuff when you don't feel like you're going to implode at any moment.

Also, you deserve to be happy. Like really, honestly, happy. From what I know of your character & your strength, I bet that, in time, you'll be able to find a solution where your happiness and mfrazercani's aren't inversely related. Where every drop of your happiness is at the cost of his, and vice-versa.

Gods, I hope so. It's really hard for both of us right now, when our choices seem to be to hurt ourselves or to hurt each other.

And thank you. It is a lot easier to have perspective and think about things now that I'm not in panic mode.

Though I can absolutely see why settling for content seems like a good idea, considering the love you bear for your husband, I think that ultimately, you would be unhappy. You deserve more than content.

That being said, I do think this could allow you to slow down some and give him more time to adjust, without sacrificing your sanity.

Thank you. We've talked about it some and decided that breathing room is good, and that we'll see where we end up. We're still going forward with getting in to see the endo, but the good thing is I can just stay on this dose for awhile and see how I feel over time. If it's not enough, I can always up it. And mfrazercani told me to make sure that I acknowledge the dysphoria is getting worse before I become depressed or panicked so that I can adjust my dose and head it off at the pass, so to speak. Have I mentioned lately that he's awesome? :p
