I have my inital appointment with Dr Reid on wednesday. I know a few people here see him so i just wanted to ask what i should except from my first appointment and what kinds of things he'll cover.

Your childhood is a common question ... be prepared to explain your upbringing, siblings, parents' relationship, your feelings as you grew up. If you are in a relationship, or have been, Russell will probably want to khow all about that. He is rather 'direct', shall we say, he doesn't seem to find anything in the least bit embarrassing. You'll probably find some of the questions intensely personal.

Obviously, Russell will ask where you want to go in terms of transitioning. You'll probably work out a short-term strategy between you. He's likely to at least require a blood test before he prescribes hormone treatment. He may ask you to come back in three months. That's what he's *supposed* to do, although he has been known to prescribe right away when the need is great.

Russell is very cool and such a nice man, I was actually just on the phone to him afew hours ago. So dont be too nervous abput seeing him, he will ask you quite afew questions, i'm a rather open person so i didnt find any of his questions particulary embarrassing. most of it will be about your up bringing, childhood - relationships with your family, just the basics really. then about how you actually feel, and probably how far you wish to take things. I may sound bizarre saying this, but i actually had a nice time on my first apt with him, we had a laugh & good old natter! lol
Anyway, i hope it all goes well for you & good luck, not that you'll need it :)
