Holt Road Construction Explained

Sep 07, 2004 12:22

There's been a lot of stuff going on between 404 and 104 just West of Holt Road. I drive past it almost daily, so I've been watching with a keen eye. Today, there's a D&C article explaining it. Clearly, the development company didn't consult me before signing up the various companies. I'll have to miss tonight's planning meeting, but it's clear I'm already too late.

The good:
  • Kohl's (the source of most of my shirts)
  • Target
  • Bed Bath and Beyond
The mediocre:
  • Barnes & Noble (I strongly prefer Borders, which tends to have a larger and slightly less expensive music department)
  • Dick's Sporting Goods (well, at least I'll have easy access to golf umbrellas)
  • Panera Bread (never had anything thrilling there when I've been to the Pittsburgh locations, but the free Wi-Fi will be pleasant)
The don't cares:
  • PetsMart
  • Old Navy
What really, really gets me ticked are the other two restaurants: Pizzeria Uno and Olive Garden. There are a tiny handful of things I like on the Uno's menu, but I despise Olive Garden. Why couldn't they have landed a Macaroni Grille? A Bravo, which we don't even have in the area yet? Heck, since we've already got Proietti's, Streppa's and Soccer Sam, let's skip Italian altogether! How about an Indian restaurant, since the closest ones are Brighton and Downtown? Mediterranean? We have Chinese and Thai, how about Japanese or Korean?
