This is an AU, then? Because Ratchet died in the movie, so that really threw me for a lop there at the end...

...sorry, I KNEW that I had forgotten something °-° Yes, it is an AU. Basically, I totaled the whole TF:TM °-° No Unicron, thus no (really short) reign of Starscream, no Galvatron, Megatron lives, Cybertron in Decepticon servos, the shuttle bots survived because it was never hijacked - I don't approve of Hasbro killing off everyones fav. bots just to sell new toys - (as did the Cons in Astrotrain) and on touch, the Matrix reformatted Hot Rod into Rodimus...

I was so engrossed in your characters and your story concept that it didn't even occur to me that Ratchet was dead after the movie until the above poster pointed it out.

I do hope you will continue this, as I very much like your idea of Rodimus' insecurities, fears, and feelings of inadequacy being likely to result in him turning over to "The Dark Side", as it were. The forced sparkbond to Kup seems like one of those backhanded gift/curses from Primus, which could potentially go either way in terms of helping with Rodimus' inner turmoil.

I find myself hoping the two can heal from what has happened and work together, and I think Kup is one of the few mechs wise enough and experienced enough that he could recover. Even in the midst of his horror at what was happening, you can see he cares for Rodimus, and in some way understands.
