G1 Blast Off / Bad Dreams (+ new Blast Off & Vortex brig post)
[Blast Off lies on the berth in the brig. His sensor net recalibrated to generate at least a faint illusion of space, which he can’t have here in this place. It’s awful, and he still refuses to think about the possibility that he would never be able to reach space again

[Slumped over the berth, all evidence of high grade, rust sticks and oil cake safely stashed away, and with no visitors to distract him, Vortex finds his thoughts drifting back to his recent conversation with Swindle.
[It is not pleasant.
[ He closed the bond. He's never done that before, even though his team have never felt the need to keep it open. He has to make an effort to detect them; their presence isn't automatically acknowledged. He hates it.
[He's been trying to initiate his recharge sequence for going on five joors, but every time he gets close to unconsciousness, the horrible aching emptiness of the closed bond starts to get to him.
[It is a weakness, and he utterly detests it.]

[Five joors and six kliks. For this long, Blast Off couldn’t relax anymore, because of Vortex’ …whatever it is. Oh sure, Blast Off knows what it is. He knows his team mates attempts to recharge, or what they do while recharging, or when their processor powers up again. He knows it far better than he wants to, but he doesn’t know why Vortex doesn’t recharge.
Maybe a not-so-subtle try to get Blast Off’s attention? Probably.
He rubs his face, and he can’t take it any longer. Of all the Combaticons, why Blast Off has to be imprisoned with the most persistent one?
His voice is blank when he mumbles:]

Nothing. [He snaps the word, unable to even attempt to conceal his frustration. It's better, with Blast Off talking to him, but he can't rely on that.]

[A loud rumble of his engine echoes through the hallway.]
Shove ‘nothing’ up your rear end.
What do you want?!

*Cyclonus arrives in the brig to check on Blast Off and Vortex. Not to release them, yet, but someone does need to make sure they're not doing anything stupid. Or escaping.*
*Blast Off is sitting on his berth, and Cyclonus is about to bother him when he smells the burnt paint and metal. Oh slag.*
*He walks quickly over to Vortex' cell and discovers that, sure enough, the 'copter is leaning up against the energon bars. He deactivates the door, opens it, and grabs the offline 'copter.*
Blast Off. Do you know anything about this?

[This is just getting better and better. Now Cyclonus has to show up - of course.
Blast Off is tired, and he already is in the brig, so he doesn’t see any reason to conceal his mood.
He snorts coldly.]
I was no eyewitness.
[He has no intention to explain anything about the bond, or anything about Vortex’ way to cope with the Detention Centre to Cyclonus. If Cyclonus didn’t know already anyway.
He shrugs.]
I guess he was bored.

*Cyclonus isn't interested in Blast Off's mood right now. He's busy checking over Vortex, making sure he hasn't managed to do anything too terrible to himself.*
*He hasn't, at least as far as Cyclonus can tell: there are long stretches of burned and melted metal on his front, but it hasn't gotten in very deep. Energon bars are not designed to make it easy for prisoners to deactivate themselves on them.*
*But Vortex had gotten further with that project than Cyclonus has ever seen before.*
How long has it been? When did you last hear from him?

[‘Awww, is there someone upset that he couldn’t break his toy himself? What a pity.’ Behind his battle mask, Blast Off grins.
And he’s actually seen worse damage on Vortex’, either from the ‘copter himself or Onslaught, so he doesn’t care too much.
He shrugs again, his tone indifferent.]

[Rumble slips into the brig with a scowl on his face and far too many emotions broiling in his processor.]
[He knows he should’ve visited or commed Vortex to ask for his story of what had happened with Sinnertwin. But… whenever he meant to, he remembered the state the mech had been in. Remembered the recording Vortex had let him listen to, the creepy glitch. Remembered the feeling of being hunted by a furious Vortex… and couldn’t help wondering, what if he hadn’t stopped himself? It’d been all too easy to pretend he’s just too busy to visit him, he wasn’t really avoiding him. Wasn’t like he’s hiding, just… staying away from the brig. Yeah. What sane mech went voluntarily near the brig anyway ( ... )

[Still lying on his berth and unable to recharge, Blast Off hears an annoying voice. Probably another one of Vortex’ Autobot frag toys.
Slaggin’ ‘copter. Even in stasis, he means trouble.
Blast Off doesn’t bother to answer, but revs his engine to a growl.]

[Rumble pauses as he hears an engine growl. That... does not sound like Vortex's engine. Oh well, so he's not the only inmate. Big deal, whoever else is here will just have to make his inner peace with Rumble's visiting hours.]
Fine, don't answer me and keep sulking, rotorhead! It's not like you can hide from me!
[He peeks into each empty cell, getting more annoyed with every one, and mutters to himself in agitation.]
[And then... he comes across one which isn't empty... He freezes. Blast Off! Oh frag!]

[He onlines his optics when the voice keeps talking, and sits up.
Great, so he still doesn’t get some piece and quiet. Well, at least it’s not an Autobot and just a Decepticon frag toy. One of Soundwave’s cassettes, Blast Off knows that for sure, he just has no idea which one.
Looking bored at the cassette, his voice is flat when he speaks.]
