*Heading towards the - well. Probably the end of his functioning existence, a word caught Optimus' attention. Punisment? Even in his alt, Optimus could snort. Kind of. Whoever thought of punishment didn't have a bond between a Decepticon and an Autobot in mind. In fact, whatever higher power was watching them was probably getting a good kick out of this. They probably had a kick out of his entire existence, and once he deactivated, he was going to have a long talk with Primus. About a lot.
Honestly, though, the chances of him deactivating at the hands of his bondmate were slim, but Optimus didn't want to think about he ways Megatron would punish him. Getting slagged, blocking the bond, and avoiding him for a week? Definitely not the way to get back in good with him. Granted, once or twice, he might have cracked open the bond, but either Megatron had been recharging, or too busy with...

Coming up to the point were tires were useless, Optimus transformed into his root mode, careful of his newly reattached arm. It still sported scratches and bare marks, the welding still noticeable, but Optimus didn't have the time or the patience to get it fixed. Not with his spark pulsing irritably in his chestplates. As he drew nearer to the cave, he was careful as he nudged the bond open on his side. It was enough to trace Megatron to the cave, even as he dreaded walking nearer to his mate. Even if, on some other level, he was more than happy to return to him.
The entrance to the cave hadn't changed, really, but what would he have expected. Careful to keep his steps as quiet as possible, Optimus slipped along the edge of the river, careful to keep his sensors turned up to their highest setting. The last thing he needed was Megatron pouncing him and slamming him against the wall of the cave. Instead, he got Starscream walking past him and out of the cave and...
He was not going to notice that grin on his face.
Feeling back along the bond, Optimus half didn't want to speak outloud, but... Apparently, whoever had devised this punishment didn't really have a strong sense of mercy.*
