b) Thundercracker flatters you,
c) an arm cannon is in your face and a very angry Ramjet says, "Go. To. The. Pit."

20) In actuality, Perceptor didn't erase his personality. That's just a rumor some ignorant 'bot started. The truth is that he does have a personality, it's just that most 'bots don't notice. You see, triple changers are rare amongst Cybertronians because the programing required puts strain on other important programs such as personality, thought processing, memory storage, etc. To minimize his risk of damaging such important parts of his processors, Perceptor stunted the development of his personality and concentrated solely on acquiring knowledge ( ... )

Even if Optimus shouldn't become Magnus, his achievement in capturing Megatron probably reedem his status on Cybertron. Others could view this as a threat to themselves, because they can see he won't remain idle and maybe interfer with their "businesses".
Why can I imagine so well some of the higher class Autobots having connections to Swindle?

Oh, I'm sure they do. Even though the Autobots are the "good guys", most of them are actually notably immoral or misguided. Few people can achieve power through honest means, and those who do often become corrupt by that power.

No, the wealthy and powerful, most of which are probably in the Council themselves, would not approve of Optimus. This is especially true if he were to take action in reforming Cybertron, which would most likely lead to the exposure of the illegal conducts of the higher class. I would not at all be surprised if there were out right assassination attempts on Optimus's function.

Great bunnies.

I actually started an Animated clone-centric fic (only yesterday, nothing posted yet). I'm not sure i can use your #1 and #6 bunnies, but I do like the ideas.

I'm looking to broaden the Clone's behavior a bit, rather than go completely against established personality quirks. Though, I think TC could be capable of flattery. There's a difference between praising someone as better than oneself, and giving positive feedback short of admitting inferiority. I would expect TC to make the distinction.

My fic does involve someone gaining possession of Starscream's shell, coincidentally. (I think I've read a previous fic in which some 'Cons took his off-lined corpse for safe-keeping.)

Take them if you like, even only for generating ideas. About the clone's personalities, I think they would be able to do what I made them, both like in your idea using their traits in distinguished ways and outright breaking them if necessary.
For example, for Ramjet there could be situations where he CAN'T lie or he's so mad it overrules his habit.
For Sunstorm goes the same for the latter; but of course, he could begin talking like Megatron whenever he "praised" SC for his incompetence. "Your aim is astonishing in shooting everything but your target, a wonderful gesture to your opponent."

I have some chapters of my fic on fanfiction.net now, but ffn is being weird now and not loading for me.

I'll acknowledge you when I upload the next chapter, because your bunnies did start me thinking of other ways the seeker clones could change.

I had a similar idea about Ramjet. I had him get into a stressful situation where lying, or being just bitterly sarcastic, would not help him, so suddenly his tone changed and he confessed what he really thought/felt.

I actually also thought about Sunstorm being able to say mean things in a complementary tone. But, I think I am going to push that further in the future and have Sunstorm get so depressed (confined, claustrophobic seeker stereotype) that he just cannot think of anything good to say.

I had Skywarp start doing some brave things, and Thundercracker think about another's wellbeing over his own (they helped each other do this).

But right now, Dirge is still greedy and Slipstream is still pretty bitter and evasive.

Sidewelder, the unfortunate bot stuck on guard duty of the holding cell, resisted the urge to rub at his brow plates, the processorache blooming against his circuits.
He could really do with some High-Grade right about now.
Inside the cell, the two top 'cons the team from Earth had captured were locked in a one-armed embrace, howling songs about the greatness of Lord Megatron and many other suck-up lines.
The guard wince at a particularly loud note that was probably supposed to be a lilt in the tune.
Dear Primus, they did not pay him enough.
