An Astrodome for the stars

As ya'll probably heard at some point or another in your lives even if your interest in sports is non-existent, Houston boasts the first domed stadium ever built. The Astrodome was billed as the "eighth wonder of the world" when it was first unveild in the 60s, and for 30 or so years, it was the home to football and baseball in Houston ( Read more... )

I love the idea! Remember the idea of the amusement park after they tore down our beloved Astroworld? I liked that too but this will make much more money for Houston and more money should be the seller.

I just hope they are better than "RoboCop".

You know, I had no idea that the Astrodome still stood. I always liked all the glass panels in the roof. But I hated that they had to invent astroturf because of that place. The 70's Astros uniforms were AWESOME.

Meanwhile, they are tearing down the baseball stadium of my youth, Shea Stadium. Shea was not enclosed, but was similarly badly scaled and ill-adapted for baseball or football viewing. They thought they were doing a great thing. Now we have fake old stadiums.

I think they ought to build a whole city in there. That would be cool.
